Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Magi Necrosi card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Featured Monster: Magi Necrosi

Magi Necrosi is a death splinter card that costs 6 mana. It starts with snipe and camouflage, learns the oppress at level 4 and stun at level 6. It has high speed and the health/attack is average. I don't use this card that often but I do use it from time to time.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is briar patches and tis but . This means that all monsters have the thorns and cripple ability.. There is also 36 mana available and I am left with the choice of any splinter except for life splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Drake of Arnak. In a match like this, I think that having +1 armor will be more useful. I can also play my cards to the highest potential.

My plan is just to have a lineup using some void monsters up front. Then I have my damage dealers with a bunch of different abilities to deal damage. The only melee monster I use is the Robo-Dragon Knight because it has a bunch of armor.

Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have the stronger lineup because most of my opponent's damage is magic. This is negated by the void ability on my tank. The ranged monster will have to eat through the armor on my cards first before damaging me.

Round 2

I took out one card from my opponent without losing too much on my cards. My tank is getting hurt by the cripple though.

Round 3

round 3.png

My robot dragon is still alive and I have taken out another monster on my opponent's side. I don't expect it to live for much longer though. I will speed things up to when Kron is up front because there isn't much going on.

Round 6

round 6.png

It's just his Kron and four of my cards left. I did stun Kron this round so he can't heal and I have poison on it as well. So I think I have this match won just through my abilities left.

With the cripple negating the damage Kron could heal and my abilities, I was able to beat the Kron plus Llama combo.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup I went for lived long enough for me to knock out my opponent's monster while my damage dealer did their work. It took longer than I expected due to the Kron but the abilities worked out.

The +1 armor from my summoner did help negate the damage from my opponent's ranged attacker. It would have hurt me quite a bit otherwise. My opponent's lineup wasn't bad but I don't think it was a good setup for the cripple ruleset. It slowly decreased the damage his Kron could heal and I managed to apply poison to it as well. With the occasional stun as well to reduce the healing, the Kron wasn't too big of an issue.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
