Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Djinn Apprentice card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Featured Monster: Djinn Apprentice

Djinn Apprentice is a fire splinter card that costs 5 mana. It starts with no ability and learns the deathblow at level 6. It's a rare magic monster in the fire deck and the stats are very average. I don't use this card often because I don't use magic builds with fire very often and the stats aren't strong enough for me to consider it. Also, my card is only level 1 so the stats make it less desirable.
Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is reverse speed and odd ones out. This means that monsters attack with the slowest going first and only odd mana monsters can be used. There is also 40 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, earth or dragon splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Yodin Zaku. With a match like this, I have plenty of slow fire monsters that I can mix up to create a deadly team. So the blast, +1 ranged and +1 health will help.

My plan is just to have a lineup to use Grum as my slow tank with bloodlust because it works well with the blast ability and the reverse speed rule set. After that, I have a few slow monsters to deal damage with a mix of melee, ranged, and magic. Sandworm will be my strongest damage dealer with its 5 attack and it will be deadly because of the reverse speed.
Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have won. My monsters are slower on average and even the taunt won't survive long with my Sandworm on the field. So I believe that I have this match won so long as my Sandworm can land enough attacks.
Round 2

Grum took some damage but I knocked down a lot of my opponent's health. He has lost 1 monster and I have lost none. There is also no chance for my Grum to die this round so I have a huge advantage as my Sandworm did not miss during the previous round.
Round 3

With this, I think I have this match secured as there isn't much my opponent can do. His backup tank won't be able to do anything because it will die from the blast.

As I expected, I finished off my opponent in this round and cleared the match with no monsters dead on my side.
Conclusion
The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup I went for took advantage of slow monsters and blasts to wipe out of my opponent. The combination of Grum and Sandworm with Yodin was way too deadly and my opponent had no way of dealing with all the damage. In a normal battle, it wouldn't be as deadly because they would miss but this is a reverse speed battle. Djinn Apprentice did it's job and I placed it on the field to deal with those pesky shield tanks. Unfortunately, my opponent did not use one so it was only a damage dealer in this battle.
Yodin was amazing and I didn't use many ranged monsters because most of them tend to have average speed and I wanted a lineup with slow speed to take advantage of the rulesets. My opponent was clearly looking for a drawn-out battle and I don't think he expected me to have blast. With the blast ability there, his damage dealers died off quite fast and he chose to have a backup tank in his second spot. I feel that this is fine in a normal match but with taunt on the field, he should be aiming for more damage dealers.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
