How many times have you heard a story of something that happened long ago? Exactly how long ago did the story take place?
The world has become filled with partial truths, disinformation, and questions about almost everything. Is it so hard to believe that certain events really took place the way they are written about. Let alone the age old issue about stories passing from generation to generation! You know how it goes... You see that a dog ran out into the road to save a kitten. You then tell that story to your friend, who in turn tells someone else, and so on and so on, until the story has been told 20 times. When, a week and a half later, you're standing in the grocery store and you over hear a kid tell his mom, " That there was a really bad crash a week and a half ago, because this llama got loose and tripped over a mouse in the road, which cause a huge accident".
The only real facts of that story was that there was a road included in it.
Now ponder this for a moment. Have you heard of Hernando de Escalante Fontaneda or John Sydney Kimberlin? Probably Not!
How about, Juan Ponce de Leon? I'm pretty sure you have.
Well, maybe you've heard of Walt Disney! I thought as much.
What if I told you that there was a major connection between all four of them. That this one thing is so profound, that people have been bribed. People have been threatened. People have been swindled out of their homes and property. That, this one thing has been covered up since the late 1500's.
While doing research for this book, Thomas M. Knight said, "Its a story that will keep you guessing. That its 95% historical fact and 5% fiction." He sits in his living room surrounded by his 6 children and wife. They listen as he is giving a quote about his book. "Its like if you were to cross 'The Never Ending Story' and 'National Treasure', it was amazing to write".
