Dear fellow Splinterland players. Welcome to my entry of this weeks 'Share your battle' after missing out on last weeks pirate friend. But this week we will try again with our stone friend from the Earth splinter!
Stone Golem
The Stone Golems that reside around the Crags of Maglar are quite terrifying to any stranger who wanders into their domain. In spite of the sheer power and weight of them, these Golems are surprisingly gentle and peaceful. A good day for a Stone Golem is one in which he did a lot of heavy lifting.
Based on the health, defense and shield buff, this makes a nice tank for the lower mana battles. And that is how i play this card. It is, in my opinion quite effective against all splinters, except for the water (magic) and death (-1 attack).
Pro's Con's Medium mana cost Only 1 attack Defense +2 Low speed SHIELD buff
The speed increases once the monster reaches level 2, the defense at level 3 and it gets the stun buff on level 5. And added life when you level it even more.

Round 1
After seeing my opponents team, i a little lucky. Because normally people tend to enter all the magic monster they can when battling with Aric Stormbringer. And frankly i was kind of pleased with the setup i chose, and thought i stood a change of winning this battle. My Centaur took out his Enchanted Pixie on first strike, leaving only 1 monster with the means to hurt my tank with full strength. After the defense of my tank was taken out by the water elemental, the opportunity ability of the Screeching Vulture took down the last magic monster, the ice pixie. A this point i thought that i could really win.
Round 2
Starting round 2 with 0 losses on my side, his Centaur took down my Goblin Sorcherer due to the snipe ability. After this loss my wood nymph was the next target. And because the wood nymph was the only monster able to do direct damage to my opponents tank, my optimism to win this battle lowered by a lot. Why? Because the wood nymph lowered the health of the frozen soldier by that much, that my screeching eagle started attacking the tank. But because of the shield buff, the tank couldn't be hurt.
Round 3
In round 3 the centaur and the pirate captain took done my wood nymph, which meant the frozen soldier could not be hurt anymore.
Round 4
In round 4, my centaur took down his pirate captain on the 4th move. Further only my golem and centaur took damage, and with no means to kill either his tank, nor the water elemental, this battle was unfortunately for me, already lost at this point.
Round 5
With round 5 coming to an end, my golem only had 1 life left, and the frozen soldier 1 life, but 5 defense. And this is how the round ended.
Round 6
In round 6, the water elemental downed my golem in the first move, after which the frozen warrior reduced its life back to 2 and hurting my centaur. In the end it went on until round 8, i which all my monster were lost, and this game ended in a defeat on my side.
Conclusion
For this game, i think i had a pretty decent setup, and made use of the lower mana of the Stone Golem as a tank by being able to add another monster. This would not have been possible if i would have used the Unicorn Mustang as a tank. After reviewing my battle, perhaps if i swithced my goblin sorcerer for the Khmer Princess, i could have taken down the Frozen Soldier and won this match. But we will never know 😒
