MoVida Bar De Tapas

After hearing and seeing so many good reviews on Zomato’s about MoVida, located 1 Hosier Lane, CBD, Melbourne. My partner and I were excited to finally have had a session booked in on a Friday night.

Staff there were very welcoming and attentive, but the food itself was very lack lustre to say the least while also being very closely seated to others next to us that ended up blasting our ears with cackling laughter where it’d blow ones ear off, didn’t set the seen greatly as we were struggling to talk as it was definitely ones trying to over speak each other.

The food itself is very average, we had Croqueta, Tostada, Topinambur and Calamares, which was nothing special to get excited over. It felt as if there was too much going on with the food, too much trying to make the food great with various flavours which left the ingredients of the food being served hard to distinguish what dish it actually was. As the saying going goes, ‘KIS’ Keep it Simple, as over complicating the dish itself destroyed what could’ve been great, good try however!

For those looking for an intimate place to enjoy with ones partner, I would not recommend it, however if you’d still want to go ahead and try, maybe you’d get a better experience.
