Everyone is talking about the cryptos to buy this year, hyping the next big thing, the potential moonshots, the so-called “hidden gems.” For example, I recently published this YouTube short video about HONEY that you can earn and which could be a hidden gem:

But let’s flip the script for a second. Instead of diving into what I’m adding to my portfolio, let me share the coins I won’t touching in 2025.
ADA (Cardano): Despite its strong community and ambitions, Cardano continues to feel like a never-ending work-in-progress. Its promises of revolutionary advancements are impressive, but the actual pace of development leaves me questioning its ability to deliver at scale.
XRP (Ripple): While it has a solid use case in cross-border payments, its centralized partnerships and over-reliance on institutional adoption make it less appealing to me as a long-term investment.
XLM (Stellar): A Ripple-like project with similar goals but arguably less traction. Stellar’s utility in cross-border payments hasn’t achieved the groundbreaking adoption it once promised, and its roadmap feels stagnant.
PEPE: The meme coin frenzy might be entertaining, but PEPE offers zero real-world use cases. It's the kind of gamble where a lucky few profit while the majority are left holding the bag. I’m not playing that game.
FARTCOIN: The name says it all. If a project can't take itself seriously, why should I? There’s no substance here, just a joke that’s gone too far.
SHIB (Shiba Inu): While it had its moment of glory, Shiba Inu is struggling to evolve beyond its meme coin origins. The ecosystem expansions, like Shibarium, feel like too little, too late.
LUNC (Luna Classic): The Terra collapse in 2022 left deep scars, and I see no reason to revisit its remnants. Luna Classic’s revival attempts lack clear direction, and the trust is gone.
TRX (Tron): Tron’s marketing often overshadows its actual technology. It feels more like a vanity project for its founder than a blockchain with meaningful potential.
ICP (Internet Computer): Grand promises of redefining the internet have fallen flat. The project feels overly ambitious without delivering tangible results, making it hard to justify as an investment.
DOGE (Dogecoin): Another meme coin with cult-like support but little utility. Its price movements are driven purely by speculation and celebrity endorsements—hardly a sustainable model.
HT (Huobi Token): Tied to a platform facing its own challenges, HT’s future feels uncertain. Exchange tokens are inherently risky, especially when tied to centralized entities with shaky foundations.
I could go on, but you get the idea. These are just a few examples of projects that don’t align with my investment strategy for 2025. Some may prove me wrong, but for now, I’m focusing on assets with real-world applications, robust ecosystems, and clear paths to growth.
What about you? Are any of these on your radar, or do you have others you’re avoiding this year? Let’s discuss.
