I've been watching the crypto market for a while now, and I've noticed something interesting. The perception of crypto seems to depend on your entry point.
If you got in early, you're probably doing pretty well. Bitcoin, for example, is up over 61,928,300% since its inception... That means if you invested $100 in Bitcoin in 2009, you'd be a millionaire today.
But if you got in more recently, you might not be so lucky. Bitcoin is down about 56% from its all-time high of $68,789. That means if you invested $100 in Bitcoin in 2021, you'd only have about $30 left today.
The same is true for other cryptocurrencies. Ethereum (ETH), for example, is down about 62% from its all-time high, Dogecoin is down about 91% from its all-time high, and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is still down about 93% from its all-time high despite the recent surge!
So, what does this all mean? It means that your perception of crypto depends on your entry point. If you got in early, you're probably a believer. You see crypto as the future of money.
But if you got in more recently, you might be a skeptic. You see crypto as a risky investment that's more likely to lose value than gain it.
I think it's important to remember that the crypto market is still very young. It's only been around for about 15 years, and it's still volatile. That means that prices can go up and down a lot.
So, if you're thinking about investing in crypto, it's important to do your research and understand the risks. And if you do decide to invest, be prepared to hold on for the long term.
Personal thoughts:
I'm a big believer in the potential of cryptocurrency. I think it has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about money. But I also know that the market is volatile, and there's always the risk of losing money.
That's why I'm not investing all my money in crypto. I'm only investing a small amount that I'm willing to lose. And I'm planning to hold on to my investment for the long term.
I think the future of crypto is bright, but I also know that there are risks involved. So, if you're thinking about investing in crypto, do your research and understand the risks before you put any money down.
