Brave Browser is well known around Publish0x. It is easily one of the best if not the best browser around. It always surprises how many new partners and updates Brave announces so I wanted to get a list together of all the recent announcements and what they mean to us (the average user).
Brave Firewall + VPN for iOS app via Guardian
July 27th, 2020
Brave has partnered with Guardian to release "Brave Private Web Browser VPN" on the iOS App Store. Guardian is a Firewall and VPN company and a darn good one at that. So for Brave to partner with them to create a 2 in 1 Browser is a perfect idea. I personally would like Brave to keep all Firewall and VPN items in house and then they would have better control over everything and could be transparent with everything. That being said I wonder if this is going to carry over to other platforms.
If you want to now more dirty details on how it works here is their marketing video on it that does a pretty good job at explaining it.
bitFlyer partners with Brave
July 9th, 2020
bitFlyer is a crypto exchange in Japan. In April of 2020 bitFlyer listed BAT on their exchange and they are starting to develop a crypto asset wallet for Brave users. I think anyone that uses Brave wishes there were more wallet options to pick from then just Uphold. And bitFlyer isn't just some small exchange that is partnering with Brave to get the PR. bitFlyer is huge, it has the largest monthly trading volume in Japan.
NYIAX partners with Brave
July 9th, 2020
NYIAX is a upfront marketplace and contract management exchange. It is the largest by volume and users. What this partnership does is it allows NYIAX users to guarentee their brand ads will appear on the Brave Rewards ads. This is just another massive ad revenue scheme for Brave and its a win win for the users.
What is interesting is that Brave Ads are available in 183 countries and the click through rate (CTR) of the ads is 9%. What each user can do to help the Brave environment is to click on more ads to increase that CTR. It was confirmed by a Brave employee that you do NOT need to click on the ad itself to earn the BAT for viewing it. Now if you do click on it instead of just clicking on close or swiping it away it will increase the CTR and make more advertisers want to advertise on Brave and we would get more ads and more BAT. So think about it next time you get an ad people!
Code for Everyone partners with Brave
July 19th, 2020
Brave has partnered with another Japan company. This time it is with a educational nonprofit called "Minna no Code" or "Code for Everyone". What this partnership is basically a scratch my back and I'll scratch your back situation. They are going to setup a referral program for Code for Everyone, and a custom home page. We as Brave users can now 'tip' BAT to Code to Everyone to help the nonprofit.
Travala.com announce AD campaign with Brave
July 13th, 2020
Travala.com is hotel booking service and is very crypto friendly. They have partnered with Brave for an AD campaign. Travala has partnerships with Booking.com, Priceline and Expedia. They have over 2 million properties in 230 countries to rent.
What this means to us the users is that we will see ads for Travala.com in the Brave Browser.
Publisher AD Revenue while using Brave increases
July 24th, 2020
So there is this littler Dutch company called NPO which is Netherlands public broadcaster. They decided to ditch trackers to target ads to people. And instead decided to switch to contextual ads. Basically they switched from annoying ads that we all hate to ads that we like. And since the switch, their revenue based on there ads increased. What this proves in a very small set is that Brave Rewards works and getting rid of the nasty internet ads and tracking that we all hate is better for users and the business.
Here is a graph of NPO's revenue increase year over year.
Gemini integrates with Brave
July 15th, 2020
This one I really like guys. Gemini is a US based Trust company regulated bu the New York State Department of Finance and is available to all US states except Hawaii. What this means is that we as Brave users are getting more options to spend or send our BAT. This partnership will enable a new tab on the Brave Tab screen that lets users trade their BAT for other cryptos that are listed on the Gemini Exchange.
If you are a Brave Creator than you can receive your BAT into your Gemini wallet instead of the Uphold wallet. That is a game changer to me. While I wouldn't prefer to use a U.S. Based wallet to store all my crypto (even though I live in the U.S.), I still like having more options.
What I think everyone should take away from this is that Brave is constantly on the up. They are constantly making new partnerships and updates to their browser to make it better for the Users AND the Companies supplying the ads.
