By the time I get this posted, it will be pretty close to midnight on New Years Eve 2020. Let us let the underground river wash the filth of the past year off our bodies, leaving us fresh and ready for new projects, new opportunities, new knowledge.

I think this one might have been well served by the application of colored pencils, and I may do it a second time in color.
The main challenge here was making the different levels of stone wall distinct from one another, making the stone and water look like stone and water, and making sure the figures don't disappear in the background or merge together. There's a fun freedom in making them so small - you don't really have to fuss with nose shape or too much detail of musculature.
I wish I had achieved more contrast in values. I think given the subject, probably the correct solution to that issue will be applying rusts and grays to the stone, greens and blues to the water, human skin tones to the figures.
Happy new year!
