Hi everyone,

Today I was reading through some news websites and came upon an article that shows cryptocurrency projects and exchanges are donating to help fight COVID-19. This is very noble and a good deed of the crypto industry.

Stellar Lumens XLM

The Stellar Development Foundation has launched an XLM donation-matching program. They want to match donations with the Tor Project for example. They are willing to match up to 79.300$, which means around 1.9 million XLM. The Stellar Development Fund is also going to match donations to Unicef France.

Golem and Tezos

Golem and blockchain project Tezos have set aside hundreds of Tezos and this will go to the highest F@H donor at the end of April. Cointelegraph has already reported earlier that around 20 teams of Tezos have donated different resources to the F@H initiative.

Ripple XRP

Ripple labs is donating as well during the sanitary crisis. They have given a total of 200.000$. 100.000$ is going to the Tipping Point Community that will help victims in the US. Ripple labs donations will also go to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

Binance

Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance has announced already the 25th of January to make a donation of 1.5 million dollar to help the victims in Wuhan, China. The donation would go to the authorities of China to buy medical equipment and supplies. The Binance Charity is working on a project to raise around 5 million dollars to help countries that need it the most to fight against the virus.

BitMex

Arthur Hayes, the CEO of BitMex has announced to donate 2,5 million$ to help fight against the coronavirus. This will be divided towards four different organizations that are in the forefront of the battle.

These are all examples of the crypto industry helping fight against the coronavirus and this is a very good thing. It could bring a positive news wave towards people that do not understand cryptocurrencies yet and they can see that it is not all negative, like the media often wants to portrait. I am happy to see donations from different projects in the crypto space. I personally have made a small donation as well to help hospitals in France. Every little donation helps our fight against this virus.
