That topic brought to memory Pushkin's story "Барышня-Крестьянка" that I can perhaps translate as Lady-Pesant.
It is a story takes us back to the beginning of the 19th century. At that time 90% of the Russian population were serfs, which is, omitting technicalities, were basically slaves, owned by noblemen estate owners.
In that story, two neighboring landowners had a feud. However, one of the landowners had a daughter, who was very curious about the son of The daughter was very curious about the "enemy" son, who just graduated from a university in Germany and according to gossips was good looking.
However, because of the feud, she couldn't see him. Thus she had an idea to dress as a peasant and pretend that she collects mushroom in the forest of the "enemy" landowner.
The scene below shows how several serf girls, who are sewing and doing embroidery work for their master, made a peasant costume dress for the lady.
