I don't know if you've done the quests on Opensea, but I do because I consider myself a crazy degen. Obviously, I don't know if the quests will be valuable, but I think so because Opensea is the leading NFT marketplace. I admit I was very disappointed by the new postponement of the TGE (which was scheduled for Q1 2026, presumably the end of March). The team decided to postpone because the Foundation would like to launch the mobile app (and the perps exchange?) before the TGE ($Sea).
Essentially, Opensea had implied that the TGE would take place in February 2025, then in October 2025 and finally in March 2026. March also fell through, but because they broke their promise, they gave users the opportunity to refund the fees spent (a pool of almost $10 million) from wave 3 to wave 6. About 40-50% of the funds were refunded and although I was hesitant, I decided not to request a refund (almost $1,900 USDC).

I don't know if it's the right choice, but I felt compelled to trust the team once again. The refund would have canceled my interactions on Opensea from October 2025 to March 2026 (badges).
Please note that using Opensea can guarantee you three airdrops:
1) Opensea itself.
2) Relay (the bridge/swap that Opensea uses).
3) Base (if you perform these operations on the Base chain).
Three airdrops with a single interaction convinced me to farm Opensea. I'd like to shed some light on their airdrop structure because it's very complex, making the airdrop difficult to estimate. Essentially, there will be two separate airdrops on Opensea:
1) Airdrop OG - Early users (2018-2024): presumably they will use a linear distribution based on fees spent/volume.
2) Airdrop II (2025-2026):
- Beta phase (late January-late May 2025): tier 1-tier 5.
- Voyager phase (late May-September 15, 2025): tier 1-tier 12.
- Wave 1 to Wave 6 (September 15, 2025-March 31, 2026): tier 1-tier 13.
The higher your tier, the more tokens you'll receive for each phase. Refunding fees would have canceled interactions from wave 3 to wave 6. I participated in all phases and have all the badges (obviously not all at the maximum, but varying tiers). Each badge will have a variable amount of $Sea tokens.
Approximately $60 million in fees were spent in the six waves, of which approximately 50% were distributed as rewards. Essentially, the airdrop for this phase should be at least $25M (to recoup the fees). $25M and not $30M because about $5M has been refunded (users lost the right to receive $Sea tokens for these four waves). The team reiterated that the community is entitled to 50% of the supply, of which 25% goes to TGE (estimating a FDV of 1B, this would mean an airdrop of about $250M).

Overall, the waves saw regular participation from around 20-30k users (the total number of users varied between 400-500k, but many of these were stuck in the first three tiers with a minimum spend of just a few dollars or even nothing at all).
In terms of development, Opensea is different from the platform of a few years ago. In addition to being the largest NFT marketplace, they've added many new features:
- Flagship Collection (a kind of reserve/museum with historical NFT).
- Swap/Bridge (Relay link).
- Charts.
- Ability to buy on one chain without having gas (gas on another chain can be used).
- AI features.
- More attractive layout.
- Mobile app (in beta).
- Perps exchange (coming soon?).
I'm not a fan of mobile apps because I believe the real user experience for a DeFi user is using a laptop due to the ability to open multiple pages at once, the larger screen, etc. (or do you trade, list NFT, buy/sell with the mobile app when you're at the pub? I don't think so). The Perps exchange meta, in my opinion, is saturated, so I don't see the point of launching perpetuals on Opensea using Hyperliquid, but let me see what happens (in the meantime, some NFT collections have resurfaced after years of low volumes).

If you've used Opensea over the years and/or farmed any of these phases between 2025 and 2026, please let me know in the comments.
