These are exciting times for NFT collectors and game players, with a deluge of new projects and games arriving on the WAX blockchain on a daily basis. That has also led to a spike in the price of WAXP, with the realities of supply-and-demand in full effect.

After projects like Alien Worlds and R-Planet arrived early to market in preliminary form and gained large user bases, there was a bit of a lull before project debuts picked up at a rapid clip circa late August 2021.

One of those new arrivals is Beast Garden. It's a project I've invested in, and the more I've learned about it, the more bullish I've become about its long-term prospects.
Beast Garden Level 1 Whitelist Pass
The whitelisting process was unique, with the stipulation that people had to be active in the Beast Garden general chat channel on Discord for seven consecutive days to land one of the 500 spots as an Active Trainer.

You've never seen a more well-behaved chat room. I felt fortunate to be one of the final selections for the group of 500, which earned me a Level 1 whitelist pass. It was the happiest I've been about an NFT-related outcome since I discovered Wire in R-Planet.

Luckily for those who missed the cut for Level 1 whitelisting, Beast Garden silver tokens can be blended into a Level 2 whitelist pass. This has rewarded early supporters who received the tokens for free, and those with Level 1 or 2 passes will also be able to get in on two forthcoming Beast Garden pack sales.

The BG game developers have been thorough in vetting players, working to minimize bots and multi-account rule breaking. That means a lot of time doing manual checks, which I'm sure is quite tedious.

But the results have been worth it, with a community of people excited to play Beast Garden when it launches in beta.

The artwork is well-designed, colorful without being tacky or overwhelming. There's a consistency to the presentation.

Season 1 NFTs in Beast Garden
The Beast Garden game, like most in this realm, is still in development. But the whitepaper and other supporting documentation provide a level of detail that many other similar projects have lacked.

The developers have left some things open-ended, allowing for feedback from the community on various ideas. There's a delicate balance to that, but BG has been on-point with it to date.

This past weekend was the big initial pack sale for Beast Garden. I ended up with six packs in total, two of each variety.

Starter Pack, Trainer Pack, Master Pack
They staggered the timing rather brilliantly, allowing Level 1 whitelist pass holders like me to buy one of each pack variety one hour ahead of the deadline to blend a BG silver token into a Level 2 pass.

Not surprisingly, demand for silver tokens shot up in that final hour. Fear of missing out is a real thing.

The pink Master Pack was the most highly-coveted, as each one contains a Season One bounty. And that's the most intriguing part of all of this to me, the bounties.

Rare Beast Bounty sale info
Beast Garden utilizes a season format, and we're now in the opening salvo of Season One. This is crucial to remember, as bounties are directly connected to their specific season.

As I understand it, a portion of the revenue earned from Beast Garden secondary market NFT sales (not including packs) goes into a pool that ends up being distributed to holders of bounty NFTs in a given season.

Once a bounty is minted, the meter starts running from that point through whenever it's redeemed, ideally at the end of the season right after the bounty's earning capacity ends.

The amount you earn from a bounty depends on how strong the game's sales were between the NFT being minted and the conclusion of the season.

Beast Bounty: Rare, Uncommon, Common
The need to mint bounties early to maximize earnings provides players with incentive to open their Master Packs quickly, instead of holding them hoping to make money on a flip in the secondary market.

Moreover, the bounties encourage people like me to write about Beast Garden and spread the word. Yet again, you can see where the developers have been very clever in their approach to marketing.

If you're desperate for WAX, you can send in your Beast Garden bounty NFT early to get the payout. But it's foolish to do so unless you absolutely must.

Prior to this past weekend, the game had been in Preseason mode. For any of you who end up giving Beast Garden a try, be careful that you don't accidentally buy a BG Preseason bounty by mistake.

There are a number of other new NFT projects that I like, including NFT Battle Miners. But NBM really deserves its own stand-alone article, so I'll save that for another time.
