The Week In Memes: 8th May - 14th May

Good day everyone,

I hope you are all well and are had an excellent week, welcome to CryptoGod-1’s blog on all things crypto. I am continuing my series based off some of the most interesting news stories of the last week, some of which I have written posts about on here. Within I will be making use of some Meme's as posted in the Reddit Group Crypto Currency Memes to really get the message across of what's been going on. Enjoy :)

Meme Coin Madness

Did you make sure to invest your life savings into Pepe? Its the latest big thing. People are putting 20k in and walking away with millions and millions from it. Do it. Do it now. Aaaand its gone.

With the market being flooded with new meme coins on a near daily basis, it is difficult to see what is really any good anymore. Oh of course, Bitcoin. Always has been, always will be.

Once the Meme Coins have some sort of sentimental value then that's what matter really, right? I mean who cares if you're sitting on millions of worthless coins once you like 'em.

At least at the end of the day its all about the great memories that are made along they way.

We Are Still Early!!

With so much FOMO in the market and everybody looking for the next big thing, its important to look at the charts from multiple angles. Whether its the 15 minute chart, the 4 hour chart, or the 1 day chart, zooming out is imperative to success. Keep zooming out and get some real perspective on things.

Fees, Fees, and more Fees

The recent spate in people FOMOing in has seen network fees soar once again, and these days it is not just Ethereum charging through the roof for transactions.

People are never happy though, it doesn't matter whether the fees are high or low, people will always find a way to complain about something. Anyway, Bitcoin will just continue on like it always does and wont worry about the opinions of the world.

SEC Thinks MiCA Regulation the Solution

Republican leader at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Hester Peirce, has come out and claimed that Europe’s legislation to regulate cryptocurrency could be a model for the United States to follow. The country is very much divided on issues surrounding crypto and how to regulate the industry.

Coinbase Apologizes For Calling PEPE A “Hate Symbol”

It seems we can never get too far away from a meme coin of late, and cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase was forced to make a public apology after claiming the frog token to be considered as a hate symbol that is used by the “alt-rights group.” Paul Grewal, the chief legal officer was forced to tweet stating “We screwed up and we are sorry.” I think South Park beat them to it.

UAE Becomes Crypto Go To Destination

With so much uncertainty in the United States surrounding Crypto, from regulations, taxes, and just general perception, it seems cryptocurrency leaders are turning to the United Arab Emirates as a solution. This is due to the nations proactive approach to crypto regulation when compared to the US, according to Saqr Ereiqat, co-founder of venture-building firm Crypto Oasis. Things might just be 'heating up' for crypto.

To be fair, the nation has always been famed for its luxury lifestyle in Dubai, fast cars and fast women as they say. Maybe, just maybe, wen lambo could be real afterall.

White House Blames North Korea Missiles on.......Cryptocurrency

A new report from the White House has stated that half of the funding for for the missile program in North Korea has come from cybercrimes and cryptocurrencies, according to the U.S. deputy national security adviser for cyber and emerging technology.

They went on to claim how North Korea has increased its efforts to steal illicit crypto from unsuspecting individuals to fund their activity. In other news, the United States government sold 9,861.17 bitcoin for around $216 million back on the 14th of March 2023 which it has previously 'seized' from Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the online dark web marketplace Silk Road. Totally different and in no way related to what North Korea is doing...
