Welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. Today I will be looking at Cardano Blockchain founder Charles Hoskinson's post on 'X' which outlines a reminder and his belief of digital currencies’ true purpose and ethos.

The Cardano Blockchain founder Charles Hoskinson made a post on 'X' on the 25th of April 2024, and within he outlined a reminder for the cryptocurrency community about the real purpose and use case of digital currencies beyond trading. Within the post he emphasised his point with a quote from the 1938 song “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” by Bennie Benjamin, Eddie Durham, Sol Marcus, and Eddie Seiler. Hoskinson related this to the essence of cryptocurrency in his powerful message.
His message was similar to that of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who explained that crypto is about more than reading tokens and is instead about a broader movement to protect freedom, privacy, and decentralisation. He shared these thoughts as part of an April 20th post on 'X.'
Buterin used his post to remind the cryptocurrency community of Satoshi Nakamoto’s goal in creating Bitcoin. This was part of a much broader and wider movement than just facilitating digital transactions. He argued his point that the principles of liberty and decentralisation are central to cryptocurrency, along with the aim of keeping power in the hands of individuals rather than centralised authorities.
The message from Hoskinson is a timely reminder given his recent thoughts on the heightened amount of actors in the crypto space who have been creating decoy activities and promoting selected projects in a bid to claim these activities have genuine purposes. This point of view was given during a live broadcast earlier this month. These are known as “Kayfabe,” or staged events and narratives that misrepresent the actual state of affairs.
Hodgson reiterated his commitment to the community in creating a transparent and inclusive social space where individuals can learn about the network based on their interests and curiosities. He noted that the Cardano ecosystem extends far beyond the competitive narratives and staged events that sometimes fall in line with the activities of the cryptocurrency industry.
