What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). They did had 3 different events sold-out, the Riftwatchers presale, The Runi NFTs and the Tower defence game presale. In one week! Play2Earn at its best. It is waaaay to much, and I need to prioritize maxing out the RW summoners right now, waiting to buy more CL and RW packs for later. Check the contest at the end of this post!

We can buy still Chaos Legion packs with 4$, using just DEC, for a 45% discount right now (something like $2.10 per pack instead of $4). Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. We can buy Riftwatchers packs for $5 in SPS and 1 Vouchers. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. It was announced that Lands NFT are coming in the 1st quarter of 2023 now, with the new Roadmap proposed by Splinterlands. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.

The Djinn Aprentice is a Rare Fire Splinter, and one using Magic nevertheless, as they are not that many in this splinter. At max level it has 4 Magic damage, 4 Speed and 5 Health, all for 5 Mana only. It is ideal for Fire splinter only Equalizer ruleset, to give one example or for small mana cap, if it managing to hit the last of the opponents cards, as it has only one skill activating at the level 6, Deathblow, doing double damage to the last standing monster in the enemy's team. Other than that, it is not a card that I use very often.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:
Mana Limit: 25
Rulesets: Standard, with no extra rulesets
Teams:
Mine - Summoner: Commander Jacek, providing some insane boost for Bronze III, with +2 extra Speed, Scattershot and Piercing. I used the Living Lava as main tank with Shield, reducing Melee and Ranged attack, assisted by the Tenyii Striker with Sneak, Djinn Apprentice for some Magic damage, Alchemist with Halving to reduce the tank attack by half, and a Scirch Fiend at the back, to defend from eventual Sneak cards.
Opponent - Summoner: General Sloan was his choice of summoner, with +1 Ranged damage boost. First card was a Gargoya Scrapper, to get some extra hits, followed by a Shieldbearer as main tank, with Taunt, protecting 3 weaker cards, Time Mage with 1 Magic damage and Slow, Herbalist with 2 Ranged attack and Pelacor Arbalest with Double Strike, hitting twice with 3 Ranged damage each time.
Round 1 - Looking bad for me, but in the first round the Djinn randomly attacked and killed the Scrapper, and few more hits were exchanged.
Round 2 - A lucky shot from my Djinn killed the Arbalest, and the Alchemist defeated the Herbalist, before my main tank, the Living Lava, was destroyed.
Round 3 - I managed to kill the Shieldbearer, lucky for me it has only Taunt and no Shield at level 1.
Round 4 - The Time Mage with 1 Health remaining was an easy pray. Game won.
Star of the game - The Djinn Aprentice, ignoring the Armor and going for the kill ever so often.
On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising over 1.13 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. Also, i have finished acquiring the desired 1UP (60k 1UP now), inspired by the Cartel efforts. On top of this, it was announced a new soccer game made by the Splinterlands team, with quite some interesting mechanisms. Coming up after October with the first versions!

Also, if you are posting on Publish0x and Read.cash blogs, and you liked the Chifibots game mentioned in the latest OneUp Cartel posts, there are still 4 prizes to be won if you want to get some of their NFT packs on this contest, open until the day they launch. We are closer than you imagine!
All the best, George
