Hello, friends.

Quick backstory:

If you've been following my Instagram (@where_man), you know that I've been spending the last 4 months living in an Airbnb in New Zealand.

Since the day I moved here back in March, my host has been constantly playing this game called "Clash Royale" -- many of you may have heard of it since it has over 100 million downloads in the play store.

I've been very strong for the past year, holding firmly to a daily routine of books, research, exercise, and all-around decent productiveness.

But alas...3 nights ago, everything changed.

My host, his daughter and I had a few glasses of wine, and gathered for a game night. And once his daughter went off to bed, he urged me to download this damn game on my phone so we could play together...

I was drunk.

I was powerless.

And the rest...is history.

Damn you Airbnb host!!

Well, that was it...we drank wine and played this game for the rest of the night, and before I knew it, I was completely addicted to it.

So...how has a mobile game changed my thoughts on the crypto space?

2 words: Digital Assets

I've always heard about coins (like Enjin) and marketplaces (like OpenSea), who are focused on bringing blockchain technology to the enormous global gaming market. But until now, I haven't dug too deeply into it as a potential addition to my crypto portfolio.

That's all changed now, as I've become forcibly enlightened to how quickly digital items such as upgrades, skins, and new characters can become so tempting for gamers to spend their hard-earned dough on.

Would've kicked his ass if I had a Level 5 Skeleton Cannon...

Conclusion

So...what has my descent into the gaming rabbit hole taught me about crypto?

That the gaming applications for blockchain technology are vast, and I believe it'd be crazy not to add a piece of it to your portfolio.

I have hereby decided to this realization to heart, and begin my research in finding the top gaming coin options to add to my Atomic Wallet.
