As the Brave team has rolled out features for both their browser and native wallet it has been roughly 50/50 on if these new features would be available to only select regions or globally. Luckily for Brave users everywhere this announcement falls into the latter category as it is available worldwide! Brave's newest partnership is with a payments service called Transak which allows users to easily by crypto via their locally supported payment methods and deposit directly to their Brave Wallets.
While this alone would be a critical step forward for the Brave Team it is especially vital given the recent bank runs and collapses and the sheer amount of uncertainty in this regard. This partnership also completes what I call the circle of money as Brave had previously announced the ability to cash out of crypto and receive fiat. For more about that service and the other updates the Brave browser has had this month, you can read a quick summary here! By completing the onboarding off-boarding loop Brave stands apart compared to other similar products offered in the Web3 space.
Now back to Transak and what they are bringing to the table for Brave users. Previously you had been able to use a couple of select ways like a Visa or Mastercard to purchase crypto in the Brave wallet. This partnership not only expands the different payment options but also boosts the number of tokens one can purchase along with giving users the ability to access various chains. Payment options now include methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, UPI, Mobi Kwik, AstroPay, and Maya! Now the blockchains also include Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Optimism, and Arbitrum. Given all of these options, I find it interesting that Bitcoin is not one of the options, and where it is it is Wrapped Bitcoin something that while it is Bitcoin is not the same as buying Bitcoin itself.
As I have mentioned before this was another key step in Brave's journey to becoming the leader in Web3 browsing. This month has really been a remarkable month of growth for Brave with the AI integration and the onboarding/offboarding capabilities! It will be interesting to see if they have any dApp partnerships they announce in the next few days since Brave typically releases those partnerships in the last couple of days of the month aka right about now! I cannot wait to see what is next from this development team!
