Brave Browser has recently announced two different collaborations that will play a large roll moving forward with the browser.
Collaboration #1
Brave has partnered with bitFlyer Wallet for verified wallets of desktop users in Japan. This is pretty important for a variety of reasons but the biggest one is this is the first verified wallet for Brave Browser users to verify and use in Japan. From what I seem to understand previously users could opt in but they could not verify their wallet and thus could not really do anything with the BAT they earned. bitFlyer will function like Uphold does for the rest of us which is unfortunate. There is one huge upside to bitFlyer and that would be it is the largest exchange in Japan. Since the country is known for strict currency controls and government currency intervention this allows for Japanese BAT earners to better utilize the token!
Collaboration #2
This Collab has worldwide implication and is one I have to say I already would have thought would have occurred. Unstoppable Domains has partnered with Brave that enables native browser support for the crypto domain name company. Now Brave users have access to the 30,000 decentralized websites and 700,000 blockchain domain names registered with Unstoppable Domains. This allows for users to have access to the wide variety of applications from DEX to game play!
Both of these developments are huge and key to continue to grow the browser! Hopefully soon they will hammer out their new wallet so that individuals finally will be able to use another wallet beside centralized Uphold which is crap to say the least.
