DigiDollar rejects that entire model. It is native to DigiByte minted, held, transferred, and redeemed directly on the chain itself. No wrapper. No bridge. No external issuer holding reserves. You lock your own DGB in a time-locked vault under your keys and receive DigiDollars against it. The protocol enforces the rules.
Built differently
Most stablecoins either rely on a company and bank accounts or depend on bridges and smart contracts when they move between networks. DigiDollar is different by design. It is a protocol-level feature of DigiByte, a UTXO proof-of-work chain. Collateral is over-collateralized and time-locked. There are no forced liquidations. Price data comes from a decentralized oracle quorum. Everything stays on-chain and auditable by any node.
Longer lock periods improve capital efficiency. A one-year lock requires roughly 300% collateral; multi-year tiers step down toward 200% at the longest terms. The same DGB can therefore back more DigiDollars when holders commit for longer. Those commitments also remove DGB from circulating supply for the duration of the lock.
Monthly locks are accelerating minting
Community-driven monthly events are turning that design into visible growth. “DigiLock Day” (also called Vault Day or Time Lock Day), centered on the 17th of each month, encourages holders to open new vaults and mint DigiDollar. Longer locks (one year and beyond) are specifically incentivized through community sweepstakes and recognition. Every 100 DD minted on qualifying longer locks can earn entries into on-chain prize draws funded by the community.

These coordinated lock days create recurring momentum. Participants reduce available DGB supply, expand DigiDollar circulation, and strengthen network collateralization in a single action. Early data already showed strong preference for multi-year terms; the monthly cadence is reinforcing that pattern and helping push total supply higher while the system remains over-collateralized.
Where the numbers stand
As of late October 2026 the network sits in a healthy state:
- DigiDollar supply around $280,000
- Roughly 196 million DGB locked as collateral
- System health near 237% (well above the healthy threshold)
- Dynamic Collateral Adjustment at the base 1x multiplier
- Emergency Redemption Ratio inactive
The system is running on DigiByte Core v9.26.7 mainnet. Metrics update every block from on-chain data.
DigiDollar’s native architecture removes the bridge commute. Monthly lock events give the community a repeating reason to use that architecture locking DGB, minting more DD, and steadily increasing both the stablecoin’s presence and the amount of DGB committed for the long term. The result is a growing, fully on-chain dollar-denominated unit backed by verifiable collateral rather than promises that have to travel across networks.
