Altcoins are where the gains are at. Bitcoin is a good long-term HODL, but seasoned investors know that the best gains are made from investing in the right altcoins. Just take a look at Binance Coin (BNB), which has soared in 2019 despite many negative happenings with Binance (the hack and more recently, the KYC selfies leak).
Paying attention to the performance of these coins and buying/selling at the right can lead to some ridiculous portfolio performances, which is why something like Publish0x exists. It’s like a crowdfunded knowledge for tokens under the radar.
So without further ado, here are 3 tokens that I think you should look at - they’re lucky to offer great profits in the short to medium term at the very least.
1. Cardano (ADA)
Cardano is the brainchild of Charles Hoskinson (it is actually being developed by 3 entities) and focuses on building a secure, reliable, scientifically-backed protocol that is built to last. The project has one of the strongest communities and the sentiment surrounding it is very positive. It is also open source and one of the most active projects on GitHub. Suffice to say that Cardano is a community darling.
Cardano is looking to move into its next phase, Shelley, which would bring a functional Proof-of-Stake (PoS0 network to the mainnet. The project is thinking long-term and has strategic business partnerships as well. Most recently, it tied up with Endor, I believe.
The Shelley update will bring about a wholesale change to the network, taking into decentralized territory. Shelley brings the Ouroboros BFT protocol, a scientifically proven PoS protocol that is much vaunted.
The development work ethic, consistent communication and strong fundamentals make Cardano a project to watch out for.
2. VeChain (VET)
The VeChain project is a supply chain focused project that is revolutionizing the supply chain, retail, luxury goods and food supply industries with its tracking technology. Located in China, the project has tied up with several local entities, and this plays a big part in its growth. The strong tie ups with existing entities makes it a project that can really find itself in working with enterprise entities.
The VeChain project has received a lot of flak, but the project is actually doing very well with its use case. It has already released an SDK - and even a functional application. One user on Reddit posted a video that showed the tracking details of a bottle of milk that he had ordered, and it was very sophisticated.
Functioning with two tokens, VET and VTHO, the VeChain project works on a Proof-of-Authority algorithm that overcomes the energy consumption problem of Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithms. Most recently, VeChain is looking into assisting the wine market in China. It already doing so to some degree for the tobacco and luxury goods markets. The VeChain Foundation also runs an accelerator program that has been established with the intention of growing the ecosystem.
3. Power Ledger (POWR)
The Power Ledger project is one that is focusing on a very unique use case: peer to peer energy trading. It is by no means the only project that is working on this use case, but it is one of the most prominent. Power Ledger lets users on its network trade rooftop solar power with neighbours. They say they want to create a new market with renewable energy resources, and the roadmap and business strategy appears to be taking them in the right direction.
It is primarily the use case that sets the project apart. It is one that has a useful, much needed purpose in a time when energy consumption and wastage are huge issues for the environment. It allows people to see their power for money, which is a win win as it is both profit-making and the proper use of excess energy.
Power Ledger has already deployed some projects, in quite some diverse areas including Austria, Australia, Thailand and Japan. The project has also received recognition in some notable places, having won Sir Richard Branson’s Extreme Tech Challenge.
These are but a few altcoins that look like they’re going to do very well. There are several more, the business strategy and laser-like focus on their particular use cases make these projects a very worthwhile look.
