I've been playing Train of the Century for a while now, returned all my investments in the game a long time ago and I just don't have the heart to sell my NFTs, waiting for more updates in the future.
Maybe I'm just waiting for that mythic Stibnite :)
If you are not familiar with the game, Train of the Century is web3 game built on WAX network. It's play2earn, so you need some elementary NFTs before playing.
There's a large drop in players in recent weeks because no new updates are made for some time now. Also in-game token Tocium value is dropping, just like in every web3 game out there I guess. New games are popping up all the time and it's really hard for developers to maintain constant number of players.
Here are the global stats for the game. As you can see only about 240 active railroaders in the span of 24 hours with 912 active trains. Total Tocium reward was 6M and Tocium price right now is about 14k per WAX. That makes about $30 earned from transports in entire game for the period od 24 hours.
I've been upgrading my 4 trains for a while now, I don't take any profit from it. My goal is to have all 8 railcars for all of my 4 trains.
I've managed to upgrade my Borgminer train to the max and got final 8th railcar. It cost 40k Tociums.
And that's where I found this bug.
As you can see from the image, all rail car slots are full but still there is cost 45k area on the right side. You can't buy 9th slot and this shouldn't be there. I don't think it's a UI bug but rather functional since someone forgot to close the loop properly :)
Anyhow I'm hoping new updated will come very soon and maybe more chance to burn the token and increase its value.
Prices of the NFTs of the game on AtomicHub are still high, they don't go down much and that's a good thing I guess.
So in order to start playing you need 1 Locomotive NFT ($0.15 floor price for SCRF-75 Loco) 1 Conductor NFT ($0.15 floor price for Tommy Two-Pair) 1 Rail Car NFT and 1 Commodity NFT. Total floor around $0.50.
