Throughout my life, opportunities have come my way. From the time I started working at 15, to my entry into the US Navy, to my working for a government contractor, to starting my own business, to mentoring young entrepreneurs, I’ve been ready and able. Many time folks miss out on things because they are not ready and able.
Let's look at this deeper.
What does it mean to be READY? Prepared or available for service, action, or progress. Have you ever had someone ask you if you were ready? Ready to go somewhere? Ready to do something? In each of those instances, you had to stop, think, check to ensure you had what you needed right?
No one can see the future but you can consider what might happen next and prepare yourself. In the Navy they trained us to have plan A, B, and C. We continued to ask ourselves what if this happens - what will be my response? Forward thinking is what I like to call it. Where will I be a day, week, month, year? What will be required in order for me to be successful? That is where ABLE comes in.
What does it mean to be ABLE. Having sufficient power or resources to accomplish something. This is critical and so many miss out on opportunities because they don't have the resources. Don't have the time (too busy), don't have the money (broke), don't have the fill in the blank. I believe opportunity is always knocking at our doors, we just are not Ready and Able to open it. I hope this encourages you in some way, shape, form, or fashion to be Ready and Able.
