✒️ Project Overview
DeFi Land is a unique, multi-chain agriculture-simulation game created to gamify all aspects of decentralized finance. The main goal of the game is to make it easier and simpler for individuals to take part in the exciting world of DeFi and crypto, while also having the opportunity to have fun.
DeFi Land offers all the features that traditional platforms have, but everything is gathered in one place. The game offers players the opportunity to start playing for free, grind their way up to the Play and Earn tier (or simply purchase a Gen-0 NFT), compete with other players, craft, trade, and dive into DeFi in a fun and exciting way.
The native utility token is called DFL, and it can be used for:
- Trading in-game assets and NFTs
- Staking and LP incentives
- Game mechanics
- Governance votes, which gives players the opportunity to determine how network resources are allocated
The Play and Earn model allows users to earn income for completing tasks or reaching certain milestones. The game has something for everyone - whether you are looking for laid-back fun or something active and exciting, you can find it in DeFi Land.

About the Game +✏️ Recap
- DeFi Land aims to simplify and gamify all crypto experiences, not just DeFi, for players of all experience levels. The team compares it to Farmville in its heyday, except with the added layer of Web3 education.
- The platform offers something for everyone: Crypto/DeFi newcomers can join in Educational Mode, which has in-game tips and tutorials. Adventure Mode challenges more advanced crypto and DeFi users. Multiplayer mode enables players to compete against one another in various games and challenges.
- When joining DeFi Land for the first time, players connect a crypto wallet (Brave Wallet is supported), which automatically grants them free land, food, animals, and tools, which they can use to participate in various activities to earn NFTs and income.
- Upon joining for the first time, players join one of three factions: Pepes, Doges, or Monkes. Joining a faction allows players to participate in multiplayer games, challenges, and competitions against other factions.
- In DeFi land, everyday objects and activities illustrate complex DeFi concepts. For example, fruits and vegetables represent products and crypto assets (e.g., corn represents $BTC).
- Furthermore, DeFi Land presents real crypto/DeFi operations through a fun and interactive user interface. So, when players swap fruits or vegetables in the game, they are actually swapping the tokens/coins those items represent.
- In addition, players can raise and trade various animals, including ducks, chickens, dogs, cats, cows, etc—all of which are NFTs.
Future Plans
- DeFi Land is currently developing its mobile game, slated for full release in early 2024.
- User profiles and chat functionality.
- Eight types of NFTs are available to collect and swap in DeFi Land. A ninth type (Almighty Alpacas) will launch in February 2023:

- How does DeFi Land gamify decentralized finance?
The game is an interactive front-end for real DeFi & crypto operations executing in the background. For example, the various buildings within the DeFi Land serve different functions: the "House Building" is where players view and track their portfolios. The "Market Building" is where players can swap assets. In addition, the game illustrates DeFi concepts and operations through the actions involved in maintaining a farm.
- Why make a farming & agricultural simulation game?
Agricultural simulation games are popular (remember Farmville or Tamagotchi?), and most people are at least vaguely familiar with the idea of growing and tending vegetables, or raising and caring for livestock and the dynamics involved. This makes it a great example for illustrating less familiar and more profound concepts.
- Is there a leaderboard or someplace where teams/factions can compare achievements and see their trophies or NFTs?
Yes, there are leaderboards where you can track and compare game scores. In addition, there are separate leaderboards for players in the Free2Play and Play2Earn games.
- With a focus on onboarding new users into Web3, what are you doing to ensure that players invest responsibly?
Education is key. Through the game’s Education Mode, new users will be guided through lessons about how various components of the game work, what they represent, and how to use them.
In addition, no investment is required in order to play DeFi Land, meaning that new users can play and reap the educational benefits without having to worry about losing funds.
- Can players track BAT prices in DeFi Land?
Yes, you can track BAT prices in the Market Building.
- DeFi Land current monthly active users (MAU)?
As of today, DeFi Land has approximately 2K daily active users (DAU).
