This is a brief story on a mural I took part in with my partner called "Believe".

This mural was commissioned by a local veteran who owns a construction company.

How we got the gig was quite interesting and a moment of fate for sure!
My partner was headed into a yoga class with a painting in hand to give to the instructor. On the way in, another gentlemen was on his way out. This was the owner of the business we would soon be painting. Getting to the final design was NOT easy! Dealing with clients in a design process can be head thumping at times but all in all, we got it done and he said, "YES! That is THE one!"

This would be our largest piece yet and honestly our very first mural.

We wanted the construction of the piece to be a work of art itself. We started with simply black and white and did not incorporate color at all until we HAD to! This was to play with all members of the community where they think they are getting a black and white mural but eventually they would get quite the surprise.

Neither my partner nor I have ever had the opportunity to paint so high up. It took awhile for me to get used to it. She thought it was a blast right from the get go!

We felt so gifted to be able to paint this beautiful message and had to think of how we could possibly allow others to feel that this was THEIR artwork and not just ours. With that, we left one specific flower blank and sent out a call to action to have community members come out and help us finish it!

An image of myself with the mayor of our city. He and his daughters came out and participated in the community flower we had. I felt compelled to hand him a framed canvas print.

This is my first post on HIVE and this was my very first mural. I used to use STEEM but of course, lost my sign in key :)

Our tagline is "Art For a Case" as with all of our art, 20% of ALL proceeds go towards a cause of our choice. In the case of this art work, proceeds are going to veteran support. If you by chance are interested in owning a framed canvas print of your own, we created a unique discount code for all Publish0x users! Just type in 'Publish0x' at checkout in the discount section for 25% off!

Thank you all for reading! I hope this motivates others to know that they can do things they never really dreamed of and often times you will need to step up and do things you've never done!
