My thoughts: the importance of reinventing oneself

In April 2019, after a period of approximately a year of high creative activity, I reached a point in my life where I felt exhausted, stagnant, and not very productive. In short, burned, professionally, and emotionally speaking. Some personal conflicts have marked moments like this throughout my life. If you feel identified, you may understand that it is important to know how to turn things around and reinvent yourself so as not to lose track.

What did I do? Back then, I was working virtually, on the blockchain, as a content curator and writer of the weekly featured author presentation. Although I knew the relevance of the work, and that through it, I could provide a little support to authors from all over the world, I needed a change of air. I decided to pause my development as a curator/writer and entered the world of hospitality.

The experience of working in the Guest Service Department of a refined luxury hotel, belonging to the prestigious group of Leading Hotels of the World, was highly enriching. A new way of being in contact with cultures from all over the world, this time more directly. Furthermore, the vocation to service has always been present in me. In this role, I was able to practice my fluency in English, my empathy, and my ability to read and anticipate people's needs.

However, every cycle must be closed, and in February of this year, it was time for me to expand my horizons and experience elsewhere. Unfortunately, when I was looking for a new job, the Venezuelan government decreed quarantine at the national level, and since then the reality of everyday life has been disrupted. Imagine living through the worst economic period in your country along with the global recession caused by a pandemic. Still, it's not a reason to be daunted and let down, right?

So here I am, more willing than ever to reinvent myself, to pursue my dreams, to grow in what I am most passionate about, writing. I am incredibly grateful for the existence of HIVE, a place that has appeared perfect for me, and its beautiful and valuable communities.

What about you? What have you done to discover your path and reinvent yourself in times of crisis? I would love to read your story!

Text that is the product of introspection exercises in the wee hours of the morning. It may or may not make sense.
