tl;dr: everything just works. A model for respect of time.
I’ve called Switzerland the “Disneyland at country scale.” And there’s something surreal about the country and its immaculate treatment of, well, everything.
There are many things to admire about the country, but my personal favorite is the train system. Not only because it goes everywhere (I think it’s either #1 or #2 in the world along with Japan), but because of its incredible record of punctuality.
To me, punctuality is the absolute highest form of respect for other people as it shows you value their time.
I was only in Geneva for about 16 hours, but it was nice to be reminded of the fact that, at least in one aspect of their society, institutions value and respect people.
