tl;dr: A “walk through” of NFT Oasis is a walk through the future of the creator-fan relationship
There have been moments in my explorations through technology frontiers where I have experienced epiphanies, feeling like I caught a glimpse of the future.
It’s cliche to say it, but it’s accurate…”the future is already here, it’s just unevenly distributed.”
I had one of those “Future Frontier Epiphanies” (FFEs) recently when I saw a demo of the NFT Oasis built by the team at Provenonce.
They recently completed a $4.4 million Series A investment round , with a list that includes some world-class investors.
Now, there are a heck of a lot of companies that raise money in an investment round, but not all of them are creating a development platform for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) where any creator (artist, musician, etc.) can come in, create a customized virtual reality experience and then invite their fans/community in to participate in virtual concerts, art exhibitions, and interactive discussions.
As those fans come in, they will not simply be passive observers, they will have the opportunity to purchase fractions of the art work, rights to special seats or access privileges, and co-create the future of the collaborative experience.
Imagine, for example that you are a fan of Taylor Swift. You could buy a “SwiftNFT” which might give you access to her exclusive “Friends of Taylor” concert. A “SwiftNFT Premier” token might give you “backstage access” and a “SwiftNFT Platinum” token might give you voting rights as to where Taylor’s next real-world concert takes place.
That’s just scratching the surface. You might also own a small portion of a song, a perpetual seat license to the “Taylor After Party” or a million different iterations.
All of them programmable, tradable, immutable, and assets. I mean, you will even be able to use a “Swift NFT” as collateral for a loan one day. It’s crazy, I know.
It will also open up partnerships between creators. For example, a “Swift NFT” may also get you access to the “J. Lo” world as a basic member, or discounts on art from Banksy or Beeple. Who knows? The possibilities are literally endless.
When I think about the economies that will grow in the Metaverse/VR/AR/MR, powered by NFTs, I start to realize that when I say that “the Internet was the appetizer, Blockchains are the main course,” I actually mean it.
NFT Oasis is going to be (and already is) one of the most significant players in the space and will change the way that creators relate with their fans, which will not only result in richer experiences for both, but also for richer creators who will have more control over their own destinies (and resources).
The distance between fans and creators is shrinking at a torrid pace. NFT Oasis is one of the more powerful ways I’ve seen of bridging the gap between these two, making both better off in the process.
