We were preparing ourselves for a difficult and unexpected (for us) climbing experience. As we didn’t have much climbing experience and also equipment, what we had to rely on was our strength.

The first mountain to ascend, Kolaho (beautiful, attractive, and lush)

Kolaho is one of the most popular mountains in Talesh county in the north of Iran, with a height of 2350 meters above sea level. This mountain has a very beautiful landscape and many climbers who want to climb important peaks such as Sabalan (the third highest and most difficult mountain in Iran), first experience their capabilities in this mountain.

There are two routes to reach this mountain: The hard way and the easy way.

The easy route is from Gudel village and it is the fastest and most comfy method. The second route is from Shekardasht village and is relatively more difficult. We choose the latter of course!

When you reach the heights, beautiful scenery unfolds in front of you and from here you can see other peaks and climb there as well.

It was not my first time climbing this peak, however, each time has a different atmosphere. In this vast and green area, nothing but the sense of indescribable joy and happiness pervades the human being.

In the past, I didn't think I could get here so easily, but today, up there, on those heights, everything seemed so easy and trivial.

 It was not as if I had come a long way. How easily I reached that peak. The height that I crossed with fear and trembling in the past, wasn’t a big deal anymore...

This triumph against your own past weak self is the sweetest feeling in the world.
