I always post the music just because it influence my writing and because I want to share it. I haven't been writing yesterday, in case there is a soul out there that did wonder, because I didn't. On the 7th day one should rest. Technically, it was the 8th. But anyways, I was quite busy and didnt get to it.
It is in general a task to not overload ones day and the 21st century new disease I hear people complain about everywhere is the 'I have so much to do but just don't get to it as a day only has 24 hours' - syndrom. I have it. But only sometimes. So yeah let me go back to my stories about my new life, shall we? I was still hanging on that lake side, complaining while not realizing that one always will find a reason to complain, but really, if put in perspective, a westerner shouldnt complain as he has more than many people. Well, even this also only counts within a certain perspective. Let me explain: I always thought I should not complain as I have a regular life, job, food, shelter, a family that is intact. Many do not have it. And with this almost any 'westerner' is doomed to not have any reason to ever complain really. But when I look at it now I see how many people do have so much in terms of material and fake security like food and shelter, which are amazing. Especially since I now used to live a life without that security, I did not know how anyone with these goods could ever be unhappy. It might as well be the doom hanging over the western world: it is yet the fact not to know how it feels if this is a uncertainty, that makes them forget to appreciate it. I learned to appreciate it. And another thing that might have come with it is, that we started to seek higher standards and have more high standard problems like a delay of a bus or rainy weather. In my previous life I had many complaints. I felt isolated, alone, meaningless at times, unhappy, because I didn't feel free. Taking the risk and cutting all chords, checking out of my securities and ending my medical insurance, I felt more and more free. Really free. And whilst my new life helping poor people, I started to see how poor the western world actually is. Little moments like the simplicity of a poor mans life, the joy of little things like a silly jokes about a cat and its cut tail, a simple smile, it meant so much more in this world. If there was need, people would help, no matter what their situation was. If people got help, their gratitude could move mountains. It was not least that it might also be their strong believe in GOD, the universe, as the ruler and creator. And I do not want to make this religious, as everyone has to come to terms about that my himself, herself and IT ( i adress every other (non)(other)gender with this). But I can't deny the fact that here, where people have so little and such a hard life, with no health insurance, let alone hot water or shoes, that there is a general gratitude for things, may they be so small, that the universe provides them. Sometimes it is easier not to have much one might think. Maybe, yes. Because there might be less to loose and there is less to worry about. Sure. But - and I don't know how it comes, what really fascinated me, is, that they were in the moment. A cake was a happening, because they can't have it every day, and hence they celebrate it, even if the money could be used for more. And while I had so much before, I did not have this gift in my heart of enjoying to give something, celebrate a moment, even if it could be better, different, at another day.
I remember when I went back home for a while I felt such a pain within the world. Nobody had the time to say hello, to greet, to enjoy the moment. Everybody was detached, foreign, seperated. We grew up like this and what was so normal for me before now became so incredibly alien. My friends had no time, and if, they weren't really there. I saw it as such a gift to see them again, because I would not be here for long, but it seemed that many didn't feel the same way. And I was happy to go back again, because I felt like I matter, I belong, I am a part, even if I didn't even know those people we were treating in our clinics. I started to see the rich actually be poor in reality. We have come to value things that can't really mean much in the end. Someone once told me "shared suffering is half the suffer". Maybe the once that truly suffer learn to help each other, because they know how hard it can be. And maybe that makes them form communities and make them feel like a collective. And admit it, doesn't it feel good to be a part of it? Where one has a role and support?
In this new age we just got started in, we will enjoy exactly this. The new technology will disrupt the way we work and value things. And we are facing tough times that we can only overcome, if we work together. And maybe the universe set it up this way so we all learn again how much fun it is to help, to share, to care, to work on relationships and have support, be of support and be part of a bigger picture.
I personally have experienced it first hand. I have given up much in my life what many people consider valuable. I have given up a social life, a certain position within a society, securities and eventually lost my own idea of myself. And even when I went through dark times and feared a lot, had many hours of disbelieve, wish I could just give up, I yet kept going for some reason. Sometimes this reason was ,because I simply had no option. And this loss, in the end, understood by only a very few souls, turned into my biggest gift. My life is filled with joy, with blessings, with so much knowledge and so many good stories, that I do not regret the choice at all.
Well, I didn't get to continue my story about our adventure. Tomorrow then. Cheers
