We do not have cable nor do we watch broadcast television. We stream everything we watch: documentaries, our favorite YouTubers, Turner Classic Movies...
Recently, my wife started streaming a show that she'd seen but I never have - Eureka.
Eureka ran on the SciFi network for 77 episodes from 2006-2012. It is listed as an adventure, comedy, drama.
Eureka is a well-written show with great character development and plenty of pop culture references.
There is a character in the show who I absolutely despise: Beverly Barlow. She is introduced in the show as a psychologist. I had no thoughts of her, good or bad, in the beginning, but over the course of the first two seasons, I came to loathe the character.
This is odd for me. I had no real animosity toward Captain Bialar Crais nor Scorpius on Farscape. They were merely antagonists.
Why do I hate Barlow so much? Is it because I'm older now and the things she does jumps out at me? Or, perhaps, it is because she is the distillation of all the evil that I see in corporations and government.
