The North American Agency, US Marshal service auctioned off over 4,000 BTC to two winning bidders. In totally there was 4,040 BTC for grabs, in four auction lots, 2,500 BTC, 1,000 BTC, 500 BTC and the last lot of 40 BTC.
This was not the first time the US Authorities conducted an auction of Bitcoins and the previous happened in 2014, and 2018, the first had the winner the investor Tim Draper that took home almost 30,000 BTC sold in 10 auction blocks.
The recent auction was participated by eighteen bidders and accordingly to US agency the event registered 38 bids that only two winning at the end get the assets, one of 50 BTC's and other took the remaining 3991.6 BTC's left.
All transfers to the winners are completed, and of course more of this will happen in future as the US Government has strictly plans to tax crypto currency and will invest a lot of money to study the best ways to make it work, as a manner to combat money laundering and other crime related to tax evade using Crypto!
Lately many other Government are ensuring that specific rules are created to assure the crypto assets can be used as property, that will make them confiscate them in case of detection of crimes involving BTC and other cryptos!
BTC is a Multi-billionaire business and are being noticed worldwide and Government are "sneaking" around to grab their piece from the Market!
