It seems the latest zBx attacks to their DeFi protocol woke up the other firms involved in the Decentralized Finances applications. The Nexus Mutual startup has quietly and silently solved two vulnerabilities that could affect their Platform, one of this "fragilities" could put in danger the users Funds as noted in a blog post here.
The first vulnerability was quite similar to the ones who affected the zBx, and the funds from customers could be exchanged from ETH to DAI on the Uniswap exchange if the hacker sucessfull reached his Intents.
The vulnerability could easily rebalance the funds from Nexus Mutual and made the Team work in a solution to disclosure the problem to not affect the users Funds and the interaction with Uniswap returned to normal.
The issue was solved and the Team behind the startup avoided to have problems like the ones who affected the zBx in their recent bZx attacks.
The other vulnerability was concerned with their governance system in the Nexus Mutual. Being a contract protocol where certain actions are executed automatically when a proposal is accepted, the system decides which action should be executed could lead to a possible attacker to masquerade his proposal making it look as legit when it's a malicious way to steal from the protocol.
The issue also was temporary solved and all the necessary steps to have a definitive solution was taken by the Researcher Team. The two bug bounty "hunters" got rewarded $2000 and $5000 and the team assure that all customers funds are safe.
The DeFi ecosystem is the future of the money lending solutions and a complete Dex world where the old ways of banking will be less necessary and anyone could have a loan in the DeFi protocol if they have the collateral necessary to have a lending!
