My first crypto scam came from Publish0x.

My first crypto scam came from Publish0x.

I have to say, I was not happy about it. I mean I have been, or had tried to have been very careful with my cryptocurrency investments and earnings.

However, I made a big mistake, one that I was sure was not a mistake. I mean, I had been using the Publish0x site for nearly two years now. It had been safe.

That all changed last week. I decided to try to use the ad linked on Publish0x to get an airdrop from cex.io. I was in the process of going through the steps. I followed the steps and linked to my Metamask. Well, with one click to go to Metamask, all of my crypto was stolen just like that. I did not approve of a transfer, and thought I was signing up for an airdrop.

To be honest, I had been wary of this process for the entire time I have been involved in cryptocurrency. I had finally, and apparently unwisely taken the risk to get in on the airdrop process. A BIG MISTAKE.

Now, ultimately it is all on me and my fault for going through this process of trying to get something from an airdrop. I guess there is nothing in this life that is free. With that said, I am extremely disappointed that the scam I apparently fell for came from and ad on Publish0x.  Shouldn't this be vetted? don't get me wrong, I am not blaming Publish0x. I am just disappointed in it.

I had not posted for the past week as I was contemplating quitting the site. I mean who wants to be involved in something that just steals all of your investment with an unknown click.

Now, the real frustration I have is with Metamask. I mean, there were no fail safes built into this supposedly safe "Crypto Wallet."  I just clicked on connecting to the wallet is all. I did not click on anything to do with sending my funds to someone, nothing of the sort. How can a supposedly safe wallet steal, or allow my crypto to be stolen like that?

I have to say, what a joke Metamask is!!!!

To the problem at hand, I need a wallet to get my crypto from Publish0x, but I don't trust them. I am not writing this for you to feel sorry for me, I am writing this because it is my thoughts and want you to  think twice before you engage in connecting your wallets to anything.

Cryptocurrency is a fascinating idea, one that has many confused, scared and dismissive of the concept. However, it also is intriguing and likely a large part of the future.
