I have been following this and there was an article posted today: https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/us-sec-expected-deny-spot-ether-etfs-next-month-industry-sources-say-2024-04-25/ that suggested the SEC will not approved of Ethereum ETF's nest month. My post title askes if it matters.
Now, in the long run I think Ethereum ETF's will be approved, and in the long run, it does matter as I believed it will help normalize cryptocurrency into the mainstream while providing enormous value to Ethereum. However, in the short term, as it has been proven for Bitcoin ETF's, it did not matter in terms of price. It did not skyrocket as predicted.
Now, some may say I am wrong, as Bitcoin did reach a new ATH recently. That is true, but in the short run it quickly retreated.
I am amused, and generally find it confusing about how much of everything related to cryptocurrency is short-sighted. I can find at any time, a doom and gloom report about cryptocurrency, and at the same time, I can find articles where cryptocurrency will be revolutionary. In some ways, it has already been revolutionary. In other ways, it has been harmful and has had growing pains.
What matters is that it is here to stay, and for those who can manage their emotional investing, it can provide a lot of upside if a person has patience, and does not buy the top.
