To be honest with you, I love the term dead cat bounce. I am not sure why, but I love it.
Now, I was pleasantly surprise that the overall cryptocurrency market started to improve in December of 2022 and has generally remained on an upward trend during the first quarter of 2023.
It this a dead cat bounce? Are we in for a rude awakening where the market tanks and goes lower than the lows of early December 2023?
I know there is a lot of doom and gloom around the economy, there has been for some time know. Things changed when the current US President took office. I am not saying this as blame, it may have something to do with it. It may not. Either way, it is a good point to mark time. There are reports of a recession being called soon, which will lead to the markets lowering before the recession and market begins to improve. By my calculations, we have already been in a recession whether the supposed experts want to call it that. There has been more than one quarter in a row with the market has been going downward. I know this is a simple definition, but it fits.
Or, is this a sign the cryptocurrency is separating from the overall economy, one that is influenced by people, not institutions? I mean, cryptocurrency will forever be a part of the economy and life in general, at least as long as the internet is around and widely available.
I am hoping it is not a dead cat bounce, but I fear it may be. If it is, the buying power increases. Either way, in the long run, cryptocurrency will be stronger and more important than ever!
