Cryptocurrency: Is this the last, best time to buy crypto?

I have been thinking about this idea more and more recently. I keep hearing references from national and world financial experts/business people that the current state of cryptocurrency is like the dotcom crash.

If this is true, or at least a good way of thinking about the current state of crypto and where it is in it's lifecycle, the answer to the question I posed is a resounding YES.

There are risks to investing, and I am well aware of the risks of investing in cryptocurrency. I just got lucky to get involved in cryptocurrency when it was 60 to 80 percent less than it's ATH.  I likely may not have gotten involved in crypto if I would have invested at that time.  I really love the space that crypto is in now, despite all of the negativity and scandals. I have written about the need to weed out the fraudsters and con artists from the space.

If there is a paring of many coins and tokens (shitcoins as I hear them referred to), this helps the long term viability and public trust in cryptocurrency. According to this article https://e-cryptonews.com/how-many-cryptocurrencies-have-failed/ , there have been 2421 failed coins and tokens in 2021. It is estimated as of November 2022 that there are 9310 cryptocurrencies: https://www.statista.com/statistics/863917/number-crypto-coins-tokens/#:~:text=How%20many%20cryptocurrencies%20are%20there,might%20not%20be%20that%20significant. That number is up from the 66 in 2013.

I am not afraid to write about the positives and negatives about cryptocurrencies. I am a full believer in challenging belief to ensure (as much as possible) that the belief is true and accurate. I don't want to drink the Kool Aid the never-cryptos are selling, and I don not want to drink the Kool Aid of the Crypto maniacs are selling either.

Like anything, there are some good and some bad about cryptocurrencies. However, if you do your research, don't react on an emotional pendulum, cryptocurrency can be for you.  I do have a feeling this is the last, best time to invest in cryptocurrency.

Again, please do not take anything I say as investment advice. I am enjoying learning and writing about cryptocurrency. I used to be a never-crypto type, and I have become a crypto type that says maybe it can be a good thing with solid research and appropriate planning. Do what you can do to help yourself without harming yourself in all areas of life.

Cryptocurrency is a fascinating idea, one that has many confused, scared and dismissive of the concept. However, it also is intriguing and likely a large part of the future.
