The question I have been thinking about is : "How low would Bitcoin have to go before the average investors buys at least on or more?"
I have been thinking about Bitcoin more and more. I remember hearing about this thing called "Bitcoin" a few years ago. My initial thoughts, and my thoughts for years was it was a scam, a fraud, or "like monopoly money." Now, I do not think this way. However, the cost of one Bitcoin as I am writing this was $17,172.70. To be honest, I knew (or at least believed) there would be a downturn from it's ATH. However, a drop to this degree, not even close. I never thought it would happen.
Now, I think it drops further, how much is anyone's guess at this time. I have been keeping my eye on it, as I am sure a lot of people are. Would the average investor buy a few at $5,000, how about $10,000? A year ago, everyone would have said they would buy it at $20,000 and here we are, a few thousand dollars under that and not everyone is buying it.
This makes me think about the value of something. Is it valuable only when it is the "It" thing? I believe if you think Bitcoin is valuable, it should not matter what you think. This is why this is the best time to buy in any market. You just have to be careful of how much money you have as to not overspend your means at any given time.
Perception and emotions should not rule investing, yet it always does for all but a small few who understand what investing in is. Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. If you take emotion out of investing, we would not lose so much money and there would be less instability in the market. If you buy Bitcoin today, in the long run you will make a ton of money (Not my opinion per se, it just seems to be the general consensus among the information that I read about on cryptocurrency. However, emotions is keeping people away from cryptocurrency because too many people bought with emotion when it was skyrocketing.
My thoughts are, invest (in something solid and tangible) on the way down, not on the way up. Markets fluctuate and it may be years before we see ATH's again. Then again, we may see ATH's in March!
A note to the reader. I am just writing my thoughts on cryptocurrency. I am not providing financial advice, as I know nothing about investing. I am writing my thoughts about cryptocurrency from a psychological perspective.
