Cryptocurrency: FTX recovers 5 billion in liquid assets.

My recent post have been about signs that I see that are helping the future of cryptocurrency. There has been a lot of real reasons for people to doubt cryptocurrency following a disastrous 2022.

Now, early into 2023 the market has been up for a lot of larger coins/tokens. There has been movement in the legal sphere with the first crypto-insider trading charge and conviction, and now the next that FTX has recovered at least 5 billion dollars to pay back funds lost to investors.

In terms of a psychological perspective, I believe this is MONUMENTAL in the recovery of cryptocurrency. Any positive news is good, but something that can and likely will help investors feels safe investing in cryptocurrency (that there funds can be recovered) is comforting.

Here is one of many articles explaining FTX's recovery of funds: https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/01/11/ftx-has-recovered-over-5b-in-assets-bankruptcy-attorney-says/

Now, to be honest, this is not all good. FTX initially listed losing anywhere from 1 to 10 billion dollars of customer funds. Hopefully, more will be recovered and hopefully as part of the criminal case against SBF and his fraudulent cronies they can seize all of their assets to help pay even more back to investors.

Here's to the future. I hope 2023 continues to bring good news to help usher in the next bull run, increase confidence in cryptocurrency, and to continue to establish a solid foundation for this type of financial system.

Cryptocurrency is a fascinating idea, one that has many confused, scared and dismissive of the concept. However, it also is intriguing and likely a large part of the future.
