The FED has been raising interest rates to lower inflation, and it seems to be working. The Federal Open Market Committee is scheduled to meet on January 31st and February 1st. The news is that they will set or outline their objectives regarding interest rates. 

According to this article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/simonmoore/2023/01/02/when-to-expect-the-fed-to-raise-rates-again-in-2023/?sh=158aaf437079 the FED wants to lower inflation to 2%. The numbers have been lowering for a bit now, after going over 7% in 2022. We will see if they keep trending down over the next few weeks.  

The next inflation update is scheduled for Valentine's Day, February 14th 2023 https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/current-inflation-rates/#:~:text=The%20annual%20inflation%20rate%20for,ET. If you look at the chart in the link provided, the highest rate of inflation occurred on June 2022 at 9.1%. By December 2022 the inflation rate was 6.5%.

I think all of this is really important for the overall economy, as well as cryptocurrency. I think if we are honest with ourselves, we are pleasantly surprised at the current increase in the crypto market that began at the end of 2022 and has continued to today. This news about inflation and the FOMC policy objects will have a major impact on whether this continues, or if the current increase in the market will be short lived.

I am hoping for good news regarding the FOMC and inflation regardless of my investment in cryptocurrency, however, I am excited for the beginning of the next bull run. I thought it would begin in the summer of 2023, maybe it is now!
