Decide Taking an insane or drastic action to achieve a better result is something that usually only appears at critical moments in our lives. Of course, if you are a police officer or firefighter, for example, you may experience this much more frequently, after all, making difficult decisions is part of the daily lives of these urban warriors. But, speaking of us, normal people, who live simple and peaceful lives, what is it like to make these decisions?
First of all, speaking about myself, I avoid making decisions like this as much as possible, without thinking and in the heat of battle. I really try to always be calm, relaxed, with my head in the right place to make decisions, so drastic decisions are what come from nothing, it's something that appears and then only those who lived that moment can know what they thought or what they had to do. I think that this scenario of drastic decision is one of those situations in which we can only think and imagine, because only when it really happens is that we understand what is happening there.
But, one guideline that I always try to have in my life is that I first think about my family and then about myself (myself) when making decisions. So, in a situation of extreme difficulty, I believe that I would have to do whatever it took to ensure the lives of my wife and children. If I had to kill someone so that my children could live, I would do it. It's strange to say it like this, here now writing the text, in a safe environment, but I think that, in a complex moment like this, I would do that.
Am I in favor of killing people? No. Do I like fighting or arguing with people? No. But an extreme situation makes us take even more extreme decisions. If it depends on Me, I want everyone to win, but we know that in the game of life it's not always like that, so I think if I had to do something crazy and risky, I would do it for my family. They are everything to me and I think I would be more comfortable living in prison for the rest of my life than living in freedom, but with them dead or injured because I hesitated to take action.
Now, imagining a classic superhero scenario, let If 10 people die to save 10,000, what would you do? What would be the decision? Well, I would think of a way to save everyone, the 10,010 people, but after seeing that there is no way, in an infinite number of possible scenarios, I think that I would end up accepting this burden. One life has no value, but leaving 10 people in the lurch to save 10,000, I think I would make that decision, stewing in the pain of not being able to save everyone, but I think it would be the “right” thing to do. , if there is something right in this situation.
So, this situation of choosing what to do, what could be worse or better, is something that only when it happens do we have a better idea. It's easy to think and say something when everything is fine, but when the moment of truth comes, our ideas, character and convictions are put to the test.
