Trip #5 Through Macro World - S.Justa Valongo | Portugal

Today I end this kind of mini series through the macro world that exists in this mountain range through which i have whispered anxieties and shared doubts and asked questions about the future, about what awaits us from now on.
It will certainly not be the last series, but the first session ends here, not least because i have to go there again to make new records.

This weekend was not possible for me due to the rain, and while we were confined, i miss my visit more than i would in any other circumstance than the one we all live in.
Today more than ever, we value these moments in communion with nature, we value our freedom, security, our sanity.
But i will proceed to the records that i made in this last lap, which is still interesting despite being the last.

In this compilation of records it was possible to join the fauna with the flora, right at the beginning of the route i found in a very specific place a plant that i had not seen since i was a child, and that i have not seen anywhere else along the route.
I wanted to try to understand the name of the plant and so i went to do a search on google, searched for similarity, by color, by reverse search and ended up concluding that there are thousands of species of purple plants and with the appearance of small birds or parrots or what else it looks like, but in the end i was not able to find any equal in order to be able to identify here and talk a little about his family, but i believe that we will cross again and maybe even make some macro records with the technique of the inverted lens and by that time someone has already helped to identify which purple plant this is.

Ahead and while looking carefully for details looking for subjects that deserve a record, i noticed a small insect resting on this plant, very similar to a ladybug, but this one does not have the black dots on the shell that protects the wings, strange.

Then it was the turn of the huge ants that my daughter mistook for spiders due to their size, huge for those that we are used to seeing in city environments.

Then another variety of plants in the form of mushrooms and prickles that peek through the vegetation along the way.
I would love to be able to identify all the species and make brief presentations, but here and unlike those small pots you buy in stores, here the plants do not come with labels and identification.

My introductory thoughts about macro photography:

It's amazing how macros with their blurred background can result in such different images full of contrasts and textures especially with this kind of subjects.
In the world of photography, especially macro photography, there is a universe of things available to everyone, enabling totally different and original approaches.

Before moving onto the result...

Here i present a short visual tutorial of the technique used in these previous series:

Among the various possible techniques to shoot macros, this is perhaps the most affordable and effective technique for those who have a camera with removable lens.
We can simply remove the lens and reverse the direction, and by using an inverter ring it ends up being more comfortable and facilitates the process.

But in this new trip through a macro world i opted for use a 70-300mm lens with a macro 180-300mm definition

That´s all for today :)
