Well guys today I'm going to do something very different from the usual.
Derived from Coronavirus, I will make a Roadmap through Portugal making brief descriptions without going there unfortunately.
Today I'm going to talk a little bit about the Serra de Monchique, a mountain located in the West of the Algarve whose highest point is called Foia and is 902 m high. Foia is the highest point in the Algarve and one of the most prominent points in Portugal (739 m), with 172.69 km of topographic isolation.
Due to its proximity to the sea, it has a very humid subtropical climate, with average annual rainfall between 1000 and 2000 mm, which associated with mild temperatures allows the existence of a rich and varied vegetation, including Monchique oak and adel feira, as well as rare species in the south, such as chestnut, small oak or oak-roble.
In this mountain there is an important thermal complex, Caldas de Monchique, surrounded by a park of vegetation where there is the largest magnolia in Europe. It is also worth mentioning the fertility of its soils, due not only to the humidity, but also to the fact that its rock, the foite, is of magmatic origin.
Several streams and streams originate in the Serra de Monchique.
if you visit in the Algarve remember to go to Monchique and see the magnificent green landscape, I will leave you here with some of the best images of the place.
for now I stay here hoping that everything will return to normal in less time possible both in Portugal and in the rest of the world ## DREW0
