Welcome
Today i went again to find something lost in the green areas of my sweet land.
Vila do Conde is divided into 22 places and culturally very rich, with the remains left by our ancestors.
Today, on one of my laps, I ended up in Vairão.
The name of the place comes from the first inhabitant of the place called "Valerien".
The parish has 1304 inhabitants. and many sights, in addition to being part of the route "roads of Santiago Compostela"
About 10 km from the house and a 15-minute drive from the city center, I discovered a beautiful viewpoint.
Built at the top of Monte, in this beautiful viewpoint called (Santo Óvideo) and (Castro Boi), we have the chapel of Santo Ovídeo.
As far as is known, and due to its state already saved at the time, the building dates back to the Iron Age before Romanization.
Previously there was a castle there and they watched almost the entire south of the municipality of Vila do Conde.
It is a pity that, with the buildings around it, the castle is no longer visible and has already been destroyed by houses in its area,
leaving only the chapel of which I will speak.

without any kind of historical date knowing only that it will be from the Iron Age, between 1200 AC and 1000.
Becoming a very mysterious chapel because little is known about it.
Even the older residents I spoke to didn't know how to give much more information, just that they are closed to the public at the moment.
Outside and, as we are on the hill, we get spectacular views.

The place also has chairs and tables with many green spaces, as it is an area with a lot of agriculture and still many places to sleep, including the hostel for pilgrims on the paths of Santiago.
If in your journey include these trails, pay a visit and see how amazing it is.
Little is known but this is the mystery that they can try to discover.
In the next post I will continue in the region of Vairão, with my backpacking journey on my back and looking for new places and new images to show you we will continue towards the monastery of Vairão
That's it for today, see you soon :)
