Publish0x, do the title of your article matter?

In my last article on the topic of Publish0x we took a look at my earnings so far on the platform. And tried to come up with a workable metric to use when discussing the data. And I think we managed to find such a metric: money per like. Maybe in the future I have to revise this as I get a better statistical sample size. But I will cross that bridge when I get to it. I also teased about this article. But I did not reveal its topic. I guess if you have clicked in and started to read this article you already know the topic. The result of my experiment at Publish0x.

By the way. If you want to read the last article where we broke down and talked about my earnings, you can find that one here.

So back to my little experiment. What was it al about? I was trying to gage how big of a impact the title of the article, and thumbnail, was having on the amount of views, likes and tip an article was getting.

So to the experiment. Yesterday I published an article called: The ever dripping faucet. In it I talked about crypto faucets. a little bit about why they exist and how you can use them. I also talked about two faucets that I use, and what I found good about them. Or if you will, why I chose to use them. And as a thumbnail I used a faucet dripping bitcoins. So how did it fair you might ask. Well we shall take a look at the stats of the article. This is how it looked just over 17 hours after publication:

And as you can see. The numbers speaks a very clear and easy to understand story. After more then 17 hours, the article had amassed a whopping 9 views, 0 dollars in tip and 1 like.

What I then did was I unpublished the article. Mostly out of shame. But also because I did not want it to be two similar articles by me on the same blog. I then rewrote the beginning of the article. But now emphasizing the passive income aspect of it al. Rather then the crypto faucets.  I did however keep the part of where I talked about the two faucets identical in spirit to the first article.

So how did this one do compared to the first article. Well lets take a look at the stats shall we.

Again the numbers here speak load and clear. And mind you, these numbers are only after about 1½ hours. So compare 95 views after 1½ hours to 9 views after 17 hours. I can safely say that the title of your articles matter, and they matter a lot more then you might think. And so probably do your thumbnails. I would however like to do some more experiments on this topic in the future. But for now this will have to do.

Have you had similar experiences about your published articles? I would love to hear about them and other experiences you have had in the comments. And if you have any questions for me, or topics you would like me to cove in the future. Leave those in the comment section as well.

I hope that you have found this article interesting and educational. And if you would like to read more articles like this you can find them in my blog here. And if you would like to read articles about earning crypto and passive income (at this time mostly articles covering the different aspects of the game RollerCoin) you can find them in my blog here.

See you on the interwebs!
