Theta Labs issued Patent for Edge Computing Platform
What was issued to Theta?
The United States Patent Office (AKA USPO) issued Theta Labs U.S. Patent 12,056,730, if my math is correct this marks the 10th US Patent for Theta! Theta's Intellectual capital continues to grow and set it apart from other blockchains!
What does the Patent Cover?
Theta's submission is for Edge Computing Platform supported by Smart Contracts with Off-Chain Solution Verification. Which sounds tricky but true to Theta's nature they have developed a manner in which permits asynchronous off-chain solution verification. This break through, is a critical enabler for EdgeCloud to perform complex AI model training. At this point it brings the collective computing power of millions of devices! Quite the feat!!!
What does that mean?
This patent unlocks and expands AI use for day to day requirements such as monitoring 'Smart Grids', eGaming, Image rendering. All done off chain asynchronously by my favorite blockchain Theta!
Break it down to just constructs:
- Pay as you go using TFUEL or TNT20 tokens
- Off chain verification to alleviate any form of bottleneck scenarios (network, etc.)

Summary
Just when I thought I knew that Theta was done rolling out all the tech for EdgeCloud, poof, a new feature is approved by USPO for another cool use of Theta network and tech. Off Chain validation. Enabled by use of two payment tokens, I envision this bringing lots of value to Theta network for years to come! And IF other blockchains desire to license this technology, well we have ourselves a money printing machine!
