Yesterday Theta released the worlds first decentralized streaming DApp for end-to-end live streaming, transcoding, caching and video delivery built 100% on Theta Blockchain.

That's a mouthful so lets break that down! So how was this released? It was released in the Theta Edge Node Client V2.0.12 (which was a complete redesign of the application) the new offering includes smart contracts. "This technology stack includes the ability to capture video, transcode it in real-time, cache and relay to users globally all through Theta’s peer-to-peer edge network composed of over 2000 edge nodes today. "

Theta Edgecast is available in a completely-redesigned Edge Node application, which now features the ability to broadcast streams on Edgecast or view other users Edgecast streams, as well as earn TFUEL via the Edge Caching and Edge Compute features. The Edge Node now encompasses all aspects of decentralized video streaming, distribution, and compute in one streamlined app. If you already are running the Edge Node it will auto-update to the latest version, or you can download it here:
