“Crypto seems like a risky investment.”
– People who didn’t want to buy Bitcoin when it was $3500 in 2019.
Crypto seems to be everywhere these days. It may even be the main reason you’re reading this right now. In the 2 years since I started my journey into the darkest depths of the crypto world, I’ve come across several different projects, games, and services that are crypto related. Some of them are ways to earn crypto, some run on crypto, and some are what I guess you might call crypto-adjacent.
When I found out about each of these I was really excited and wished I had known about them sooner. I discovered them at different times but wanted to share all of them in one place for you to discover. I hope you find some of these as interesting as I do! And a big shout out to the Publish0x community, which is where I found some of these.

1. Unstoppable Domains
Unstoppable Domains are NFTs that also function as website URLs. They have unique token IDs and can be bought and sold on places like OpenSea. In my opinion, this project might be pretty risky to get into. Domain NFTs might not catch on. I don’t know if anyone thought the internet was going to be as big as it is today, there was no way to tell. I think this project presents the same uncertainty since we already have internet domains.
However, the ability to truly own a domain without having to pay an annual fee to a third party seems interesting to me! There may be uncertainty, but it also could be a chance to invest in the next phase of the internet like if you had bought a popular URL back in the early days before the internet became popular. It could be worth a lot in the future to the right person. I currently own 7 Unstoppable Domains NFTs.

2. Publish0x
Hey, you already know about this one! Congrats. Publish0x has been such a fun and easy place for me personally to learn about new things in the crypto world, and to be able read articles about tons of different topics, all while earning crypto! It’s been a fun place to share my ideas and interact with like-minded people.
It might be easy to earn crypto by publishing on this site, but I would encourage authors to spend the time needed to produce good quality content. It can be easy on sites like this to just throw out a bunch of random words and repost articles just so that people will pay you in crypto. I’m guilty of doing this as well, but I think if more people put out things that are worth reading, it’s like the saying goes, “a rising tide lifts all boats.”

3. Rollercoin
RollerCoin is an online, virtual crypto mining game. It takes the concept of crypto mining, but instead of the sophisticated Blockchain and processing algorithms, RollerCoin lets you test your skills, complete missions, undertake tasks, and play games to build your mining empire.
I’m fairly new to Rollercoin, but what drew me to Rollercoin is that you earn a reward every 10 minutes whether you’re online or not. You need to regularly play games and complete tasks to increase the block rewards you get, and it can be a very slow start. I invested some money to buy “mining rigs” which are simulated in the game to increase your block reward every 10 minutes. Currently you can choose to earn rewards in $BTC, $ETH, $BNB, $MATIC, $DOGE, and $SOL.
I love Rollercoin because I believe it will be an easy source of passive income if I can be consistent. I won’t become a millionaire or anything, but I can make small amounts of money while I’m away from my computer.

4. Prospectors.io
Prospectors is a massive multiplayer online (MMO) real-time economic strategy game built on the EOS blockchain. You can command three characters to complete tasks like mining for materials such as coal, clay, ore, etc. to craft tools and other in-game assets, all with the goal of eventually mining gold! Gold can then be converted into cryptocurrency.
The game has been around since 2019 and since then, there are way more people playing this game, and it takes a lot longer to complete simple tasks. It is VERY slow to start, so don’t think you’re going to get rich quick, but it is super simple to play once you’ve figured out how the game works. I’m really close to being able to craft a pickaxe, the last tool I need in order to mine Ore faster! Fingers crossed my workers will turn into badasses once that happens.

5. Plugin.IO
Plugin.IO’s mission is to build the world's first third-party ad free, crypto-social, web3 network on decentralized technologies. They want to offer a safer alternative to mainstream social networks, provide better user data policies, and offer greater freedoms that lead to the effort of helping social creators earn revenue from their content.
It’s still in its infancy, but I'm curious to see what this web3 social network could look like. I deleted my Instagram and Facebook accounts in the last few years, not because I don’t like to be social, but because I don’t like what social media has turned into. Most social networks are toxic, addictive platforms that don’t care for people’s well-being. They only care about revenue and keeping people engaged for as long as possible to generate even more revenue. If you want to be a part of the future of social networking, join Plugin.io!

6. Splinterlands
This one may not be news to many people; Splinterlands is arguably the biggest and most popular Play-to-Earn game out there. It’s a trading card game that operates on the HIVE blockchain. You can purchase cards that are essentially NFTs that fluctuate in value, and those cards can be added to your deck that you use to battle other players.
It’s extremely simple and fast to play, but be warned, people are CRAZY good at this game. I get frustrated easily when I’m not winning so I quickly realized it wasn’t for me LOL. I do occasionally buy $SPS (Splinter Shards) which is a type of in-game currency that is also an easy-to-purchase cryptocurrency. I think Splinterlands is going to continue growing in popularity so I think it's a good investment. I also bought a few cards I thought were valuable that I think will increase in value over time as well.

7. Noise.Cash
I’m very new to Noise.Cash but it’s really simple to understand and get started. It’s kind of like Twitter but on the blockchain. You can post text, images, and links to channels, or to your own feed. Others can like, comment, repost, and tip your posts in $BCH.
There are several other crypto-based blogging platforms (obviously you’re on one right now), but I really like Noise.Cash for its short, compact Twitter-like design. You don’t have to commit as much time to reading and it's easy to move from one post to another. I do think the interface design could use some love, it looks very boring compared to some other social media platforms or similar sites.

8. Brave Browser
Another well known project is Brave Browser. Many people use Brave as an alternative to Safari, Chrome, or Firefox to browse the web with more security and a simple user interface. But another cool thing about Brave is that you can earn $BAT for viewing advertisements. I’ve earned a decent amount after only using it for a short time. Brave is built on the same code structure as Google Chrome, so it will feel very familiar if that is the search engine you normally use.
I currently don’t use Brave for personal reasons, but I would highly recommend it as a search engine alternative that can use to earn crypto just for browsing like you normally would. Except this browser comes with a built-in ad blocker and increased security compared to other search engines. I will say that the image search is definitely lacking, which was a problem for me.

9. Coinbase Learn
I’m not the biggest fan of Coinbase, although I used it a lot when I was first getting started in the world of crypto because of its simplicity. And with recent news, I think a lot of people have lost trust in Coinbase. But I wanted to add their learn program to my list, because I still think it’s a great way to learn about new crypto assets and also earn crypto by doing it! You receive small amounts, but it really is free money. Simple as that!

10. Staking on Exchanges
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. With the news of Celsius going belly-up, I think platforms for earning interest on stablecoins through sites like Celsius have really left a bad taste in people’s mouths. But there are still companies out there willing to pay upwards of 8% APY on various crypto assets. I’ve actually earned a good amount of interest on sites like BlockFi and Gemini by staking USDC.
Again, try at your own risk, but this could be an easy way to earn passive income. And if you have a small amount of money to invest, this might make staking on one of these sites more attractive, because you'll have less to lose. For full disclosure, I recently withdrew all of my USDC from Gemini after the news about Celsius, but I wanted to include this on the list anyway. It’s not for me, but it might be for you!

11. Staking on Wallets
I recently wrote an article about how to stake Solana using Phantom wallet that you can read HERE. Some people are reluctant to keep crypto funds on hot wallets because they might get hacked, but if you’re not one of those people, you can earn interest by staking it! Similar to Gemini, if the wallet app or extension you’re using supports staking, you can lock it up in order to earn interest on that crypto.
Keep in mind that your funds won’t be accessible while it's being staked, so if you are trying to maintain liquidity, this might not be the best option for you. But if you’re a HODLer, stake away! (The lock-up periods may vary.)
Thanks for reading friends!
I hope you found something useful in this article. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Happy earning!
