My saving grace

The Slow Build Up

I’ve been playing Splinterlands for about 2 weeks now and man, has it been a humbling experience! Day one started off promising, it was the end of a season so most of the high powered players were already in their own Leagues so I was left to play with the neophytes in Bronze 3. This week I’ve been in my second season and it is far more frustrating than I could have imagined on that airy first day! I was losing battles left and right, desperately attempting to sort out a strategy so I could claw my way to completing the daily quests.

After a very frustrating day of constant losses, I gave in and put in $5 fiat to buy some in game coins. I bought two cards packs, and a couple of highly recommended cards (Goblin Mech has saved my tush more often than I care to admit)

Then things started to fall into place; I had a handful of decent cards, my strategy started to take shape, and then the wins started trickling in.

It still takes me an absurd amount of battles to complete my daily quests and I secretly hope that my opponents will time-out so that I can take the win without the embarrassment of another loss. But the appeal of the game continues to grow as battles have become more evenly matched and less a complete slaughter. I am excited to continue to grow my Splinterlands experience and deck (hopefully without the input of more fiat) and I look forward to seeing whats behind the power-wall in Bronze 2!
