After writing the first post Coin Hunt World: Let's Strategize, I realized there were a few really good points I left out. If you haven't read the first post, I highly suggest you go back and read through as there are some good ideas that can help you get more out of the game. The post also has some good references for those that may be brand new to the game.
When to Cash Out
I touched on this topic before but wanted to point out a few things you may or may not be thinking of. Currently the game allows you to link to an Uphold account, there is talk of allowing additional wallets/exchanges to be added to the game in a future release. This is very important to consider if you use a different exchange or simply don't like the fees Uphold has.
If you are new to crypto currencies or exchanges, there are fees associated anytime you move your coins around, different exchanges charge different fees so get to know how that impacts you. Having a poor understanding of how the fees and taxes impact you can turn your $20 in Bitcoin into almost nothing.
If your plan is to ultimately move your coins to a cold/hot wallet or a different exchange you may want to hold off on linking to Uphold and follow the chat on discord to get an idea of when other options may be available. Your earnings in the game won't go anywhere until you link an account so there is no rush to get this done.
Another point many may not realize is crypto currencies may be taxable depending on where you live. I'm in the US and the IRS treats all virtual currencies as property, different countries may look at it differently so be sure to know what you may be liable for. This is important to understand as the moment you transfer your crypto out of the game it may now be taxable.
So if you and your significant other decide to play aggressively and collect a couple thousand a year, you may want to talk to someone that understands the tax laws where you live and how they impact you. Even if you never play the game and just get involved with crypto this is still very important to understand.
Before you link your Uphold account be sure to go to Uphold and open an account and verify it first using the same email address that you use in the game. Your email address is how the game will link you and currently once its entered cannot be changed, so be sure to use the same address and double check your spelling.

Collecting Keys
After you have collected a key from a key booth the booth then turns into a key forge where you can forge ten of any color to one key of the next highest color. For example ten blue keys can be forged to one green key, ten green keys can be forged to one yellow key, etc.
When I first started playing I would collect around 20 of one color before I forged a higher key. This meant at any given time I would have 10 blue keys for opening blue vaults; you collect enough blue keys along the way you almost will never run out this way.
However, since Happy Hour was introduced I found it better to have about 30-40 blue keys on hand at all times. The reason for this is explained in my previous post where you use the same vault over and over until it gives you the boosted category. I've tried this strategy out a few times since my original posting and I've found you may go through roughly 3-4 blue keys before you get the boosted category. Of course there is no guarantee of how many blue keys you'll burn before getting that boosted category, it could be one or many more, but so far it's been about 3-4 for me. I keep the same strategy with green keys, waiting till I have around 20 before I forge 10 of them to a yellow key.
Resources
When you open vaults or mystery boxes you may notice sometimes you get resin, different colors of paint, cubie blueprints (BP), and other items. BPs, paint and resin can all be used at in-game printshops to print a new cubie. A cubie is your character in the game, printing a new one gives you leaderboard points, allows you to change your character but also more importantly these cubies are said to be NFTs. There has been talk for awhile that the developers of the game are planning to open an auction house where players can buy/sell cubies, BPs, etc.
Before using a BP to print a new cubie you will want to check the details. The more rare a BP is the more resources it may require to print it, but some BPs that were collected during special events may only be printed once while others can be printed over and over again. Of course all of this should attribute to the price in the auction house but if you have the OG cubie blueprint, this one can only be printed once, so if you desire a copy for yourself you'll have to decide to hodl or sell.
I mention printing cubies as there was recently a teaser that buying/selling cubies may be coming real soon, so you may want to start stacking printed cubies so you can cash in on them when the auction house opens. If not you may be playing catchup on this aspect of the game once it is released.
Planning Your Hunt
I covered this one a bit in my first article but wanted to expand on it a bit more as I feel this one can be a game changer. One of the most important things to know in the game is not just where the vaults are but also when they respawn. Blue vaults will respawn at 0000 and 1200 UTC; for me I'm in the US on the east coast so this means 8am and 8pm all blue vaults will respawn.
Knowing this there are a couple of different approaches you can take to hit the same vaults twice in a day.
So the most obvious is you could go out in the morning then again in the evening, such as driving to/from work. But what if you just want to devote 1hr a day to going out and grabbing as much as you can.
Since we know the exact time the blue vaults will respawn, I could use the community map to map out a 30min route to hit as many vaults as possible. Then simply head out around 730am or 730pm depending on which works best for me on that day. Then at 8am/pm head back hitting all the same vaults, I still spend 1hr a day but now I've essentially doubled the number of vaults I can open in a day.
So for example, in my area there is a route close to home where I can hit 1 green vault and 12 blue vaults in roughly 30-40min. If I do this once a day I should be able to collect about $2.20 in crypto. If I plan to complete that route right before the respawn time and then reverse my tracks or simply go over it again, I would collect another $1.20, making my daily collection $3.40. NOTE: Green vaults only spawn once a day and are worth $1.00 so thats why there is a difference in collection.
So $3.40 may not sound like a lot, but when you do this everyday that could yield you $102 a month or $1224 a year for playing a game. Of course this doesn't take into consideration any other times you may be out running errands and collect a few outside your normal route or any swings in the crypto markets. Remember vaults always pay the same USD amount in crypto, so a blue vault is always worth $.10, a green vault is always worth $1.
Letting Friends Go
One of the other players posted a great video on youtube regarding this subject. In order to get a lot of yellow keys, which open yellow vaults worth $10.00 in crypto you can either forge 10 green keys for 1 yellow or have a lot of active friends to do Buddy Quests (BQ) with. As with any game, people get really excited and play for awhile non-stop then some will suddenly disappear and never play again.
There is nothing more disappointing than getting a BQ with someone, spending a good bit of time trying to contact them through Discord or Facebook only to discover that person just stopped playing and now you can't complete the BQ and get your yellow key.
To help cut down on this I'd suggest you periodically go through your friends list and remove anyone that hasn't been active in quite some time. The video below shows how to accomplish this in more detail.
Before you start deleting friends that you have already performed a BQ with, there are some talks that in the future you may be able to do a BQ with someone more than once. Currently it is only 1 BQ per friend, but if that changes you want to make sure you have lots of friends, especially ones that are really good about communicating a time to do it and don't keep you waiting around.
Fill Those Vaults
When you first start playing and learn the importance of resin to your own game you may be very tempted to hodl your resin for your own UVs. While I will admit getting your UVs open is very important, it can also be equally important to fill someone else's cubiedozer or help contribute to it so that the UV can get built.
When you add resin to a cubiedozer or cubiecrane you get leaderboard points, but more importantly you help open that location faster. UVs always pay out better than the standard blue vaults so it is in your own self-interest to help open those UVs, especially if they are on your normal route.
If your area already has a lot of UVs you definitely want to plan to hit them including your own to maximize your earnings.
Final Thoughts
I hope these tips have helped you in your game or at least got you thinking about strategies to play more efficiently. I'm sure there may be many other ideas or strategies people have put together. As always feel free to comment below and tell me about how your strategies have helped you or if you are looking for friends to do BQs with drop your username in the comments.
I've heard that this August there is going to be a huge event and the game may be coming available to those in the UK! So get ready to hunt next month!
